Child locks are on the back doors only and are underneath the door at the trim edge around seat height. If you cannot open the door from the inside but can from the outside then it has child locks.

SOURCE: door locks

Regarding the rear door child locks: There is a small lever on the latch side of the door, you can only see it with the door open. Move it to the other position.

Regarding the front door locks: You either have a bad door lock switch, or the power lock solenoids are beginning to fail. To check this, you will need to pull the door panels off, & measure the actual voltage at the solenoids whilst manipulating the lock switch. If you have 12 + VDC, I would suggest replacing the door lock solenoids. Not hard to change, but it IS time consuming. Best left to a dealer. Expect to pay 1 hour per side to change each solenoid.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Explorer Door Lock

Hey guys , i got one that i think i know whats wrong but i want to check with others to see, ok so here it is my lock switch on the drivers side only unlocks the doors it does not lock but all the other lock switches in the car fully work so im thinkin maybe its the driver side door lock switch.

This is a common problem with this model. If you access the wires in the boot between the door you will find a broken wire about an inch from the connector. Hope this helps!!

SOURCE: 2004 holden rodeo, remote control key wont lock/unlock doors

try putting key in ignition turn to on position
then press lock & unlock several times slowly if door locks cycle up & down after 1st press it lost code and is now resynconised.
now try remote with all doors closed and key out of ignition
if this dont work need to register key(program)back into system which dealer must do with Tech2 if round heart shapped remote

One of the rear doors on my 2006 Audi A3 keeps setting itself to child's lock, so the door remains unlocked on the outside. What should I do?

You may have to replace the lock module on the door or the switch on the driver's side that locks the windows if they're connected to the child lock? Normally the child lock is a manual lever on the inside edge of the opened door.
Check your owner's manual. If the physical lever keeps moving you'll have to get inside the door and find out why it won't stay in position.

repeatedly pressing the unlock button, while jiggle the inner or outer door handle this will help free up the

I have a Holden Barina Hatch 2012 model.

I think the system on that car enables you to open the petrol flap once the drivers door is unlocked (either by pulling the cap open or pressing on the flap).

1. Lock the car using the central locking.
2. Insert the key on the drivers door, turn it once and unlock it. Open the door to check you have unlocked it. Then turn the key in the lock again as if you were unlocking it a 2nd time.
3. Now open the petrol flap as the lock should have released.

Open door manually

can it open from the outside? There is a child safety lock inside the door when open it could have been put on child proof not allowing a young child to open the door from the inside but it will still open from outside. if this is not the problem then your rod has disconnected from the latch mechanism inside the door, you may need a slim jim tool or try to remove door panel from inside, this will be difficult when door is shut but maybe possible depending on the door panel itself, they may have some screws but most just snap in.

The lock on the driver side sliding door was stuck unlocked. Now it stuck locked.

you should clean the locking mecanism and then lubricate with WD40. If this is a van, my van has a sliding power door on the pass side and a manual slider on the drivers. alot of times the drivers locks and dont lock like it has a mind of its own but it always works with the drivers controls. and then the next time i dont think about it and it works. now it also has child proof locks on them, a little plastic lever you slide up and down as to put in a lock position so child cant open from inside and down to allow door to open from inside. double check this. it wont unlock with the key or power? you might have to take off inner door panel to manually unlock this and get it lubed

Back doors autolock then will not unlock with the unlock button

Back doors have a safety switch on the door. If it is what I think it is, open each back door from the outside and then flip the switch. Car washes are usually the culprit for this happening. As the car is being dried, they trip the switch and don't realize it.

Good luck.
