I can't get into the website to program my new routers security key to be able to use the repeater.
SOURCE: Netgear WG602 wireless router,
Hi, Assuming that the WG602 is fully operational, when you did a hard reset, the router reverted to its original factory setting as you posted. The default pre-configuration: act as a DHCP client; if the WG602 does not find a DHCP server on the Ethernet LAN, it defaults to this IP configuration: DHCP Client - Enable IP Address ? 192.168.0.227 IP Subnet Mask ? 255.255.255.0 Gateway ? 0.0.0.0 Your PC need to be connected via a LAN cable to one of the Ethernet ports of the AP/Router to be able to configure it again to your desired network settings. Further it is necessary likewise to manually configure the connected PC's networking configuration to match the router. Manually configure your PC's IP Address to 192.168.0.228, Subnet Mask ? 255.255.255.0, Gateway - 192.168.0.227. You can now try configuring the router through its web interface (192.168.0.227). This is better explained in the user's manual available at the Netgear site ( Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

Hi Jwsgrl,
Did you buy the router new or used?
if used it might still have the old user settings on it that sometimes requires MAC addy's to be registered on the wireless access point site (192.168.1.1). If this is the case then hit the restart button while the router is on to default all settings.
the default login and pw for linksys is:
User Name: admin
Password: admin
You probably already have it set up since you followed the instructions but it never hurts to mention:
1. Make sure that your modems Ethernet line is connected to your wireless router Ethernet port, then using the 1 of 4 open jacks on the router connect #1 to your computers Ethernet Pprt.
let me know how i can assist you further.
-Daniel.

Make sure that you routers IP range is setup to handle the IP address of your PC.
SOURCE: Wireless set up problem - no gateway ip or limited connectivity
Connect using Lan Cable
be sure to enable java on your Browser.
Use ONLY IE: some router refuse other browser.
SET your PC on a static IP address on SAME subnet as your router (but of course different IP).
If subnet concept is NOT clear to just just ask here.
When connected with router (on Lan Cable) check every setting (WPA-PSK) TKIP key, Broadcast / Channel etc.
You can also disable every WLAN protection and restore it later.
Activate WLAN connection WHEN you are STILL connected.
Last but not least: SET your DNS IP address = your gateway IP (router)
The reason why people use a Encore wireless repeater is because some wireless remote client computers are out of range from the main network's access point (wireless router), or the wireless client is in the dead spot or the device you want to share to the network have no wireless interface card.
The function of a wireless repeater is basically to extend the wireless signal coverage. Wireless repeater does not authenticate, screen, secure, connect to the internet, give IP address to clients, broadcast names, etc., these are the wireless router's job. Repeater only repeats what the main wireless router does to the wireless clients.

PROCEDURES:
1. Hooking up hardware connections:
NOTE:
As of this moment your repeater is not connected to any router or network. It has to be configured further to be able to be connected to your current network and access point router.
3. Connecting your Repeater to your existing network access point or router:
NOTE:
If you are using Windows 7 and your existing access point security wireless is set to WPA2 (AES), make sure your Windows 7 wireless security type properties is set to WPA2-Personal. To check go to Windows 7 Wireless Network Connection, look for your REPEATER router, right-click on it then click Properties, check the settings in the "Security" tab.>
NOTE:
When checking the wireless site survey, you may see two routers with the same SSID (names), these are your Access Point and the REPEATER tied together. This also means you are within the reachable range of both Access point and REPEATER.
5. To check the Repeaters user interface
At this moment, the Repeater is invisible to any client. The client's IP address is drawn from the DHCP server most likely to be also your wireless router. Therefore the IP address of the repeater is also invisible to the clients. Follow steps below:
Unable to connect to your wireless network
Likely cause: It appears that the security settings entered into the Wii console are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.
How to fix: Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Wii exactly as they appear in your router's settings.
