Camera turns on but will only work in manual mode. I can take only *one* picture; I must turn it off and on to take another picture. No other buttons function on the camera.

Hello,
You may change your shutter speed in Manual mode only. So you should turn your mode dial button to M position. Then you may control both shutter speed and aparture value.
HI,
It's impossible to turn the camera off. Only way is take out the battery.
No button warks, but I can change the shooting mode and turn playback, but I can't change the image in playback mode.
Please, help me to solve this problem.
I think, the camera needs to be restarted, but how to do that?
Thanks a lot.
I have a Lumix DMC-TZ1 and my camera is having simular problems. The camera turns on but the buttons don't work. I can not zoom or take pictures. I can turn the auto stabilizing on and can change photo modes by turning the nob. But the menu button, nav buttons are not doing anything. The screen goes on and everything. I have tried removing the battery and nothing happens.
It is not clear if you are saying whole camera turns off or just screen turns off.
Notice before the camera went bad the lense does not extend in play mode, while it does in record mode. Many cameras have software that automatically turns camera off if lens cannot/fails to extend for some reason. Try to help it extend in record mode before camera turns off.
Low battery maybe? Try holding camera firmly in one hand, with camera on and in record mode, and strike in on its edge firmly on the heal of your other hand. This technique is often sucessful with temporary camer 'quirks' like freezing, lens not fully retracting, etc.
My camera is a Lumix DMC - LS70 and the same thing was happening to me, the camera kept telling me to turn it off which never solved the problem and the lens never closed when the camera turned off. What i did was, i zoomed out as i turned the camera on (while it was in a picture taking mode) and it corrected itself. Try it and see what happens.
If you know how to open up the camera, the two connecttor from lens module attach to the main PCB have contact problem.you need to make sure they have a good contact.one way is to clean up the contact point and re insert back ,it may help.
