How is the spring seated on the throttle trigger for a stihl fs 45

you have to kake sure u wind it the rite way there should be tension on the spring when it is wound and if let go should return if it does that u have it rite...the little plastic peice must be connected to the hooh on the spring

This sounds like a timing problem.
It is too far retarded, and needs advancing a couple of thou.

Disconnect the small spade terminal wires from the coil itself and test for spark. If you do not have spark replace coil. If you do have spark check those small wires for insulation damage and grounding. If wires are OK check kill switch.
NOTE: DO NOT START MACHINE with small wires unplugged! Only test for spark.
