These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

SOURCE: 32" Samsung TV, No Power or Sound, power LED on, flashes 3 times

Most likely the set has lost vertical sweep or the feedback from that circuit. This will shut the set down to prevent a horizontal line from burning the face of the CRT. This will have to be looked at by a technician.

SOURCE: samsung 22" lcd tv: when

Hello,

If your television is blinking the power light and it is not turning on, then there seem to be a problem with the television. First try to press any button on the remote to see if it will turn on, that is to confirm if the television is not on standby.

Once that is confirmed, then it means there is a problem inside the unit, the problem is a bad
capacitor on the power supply board.

To fix this the do-it-yourself way, you will be needing these instruments: a screwdriver (40watts +), desoldering braid, soldering wire/lead, and capacitors. Before you get the capacitors for replacement, first ensure to have checked the capacitance of the capacitor in order to know the type of capacitors to get and the number of capacitors to replace.

Unplug the television for a while before starting the repair, turn to the back of the television, then you unscrew the back cover, assess the power supply board and you will find the bad caps either swollen, melted or bulged. turn to the back of the board and desolder the caps out, then fix in the new ones and solder it to the board. Make sure you take note of the negative and the positive part of the caps you are fixing in.

Reassemble the television back together and turn it on, it will power on this time.

Hope this helped.

Thank you for using FixYa
