Connect the dual woofer coils in series = 4 + 4 = 8 ohms. The home amp is safe at 8 ohm load.

SOURCE: how do you connect power amp to av

I presume you want to use it to drive speakers from a source controlled by the Denon??? Probably the Front channels? We'll assume that's it...

Run RCA cables from the Pre Out jacks to the NAD's L and R inputs. If it has a volume control, set the NAD to its maximum volume (for consistency *), run through the setup for levels and you're done.

* If it doesn't have a volume control it's already set to max. That's normal for power amps. Your receiver / preamp controls the volume fed to them.

BTW: If you're thinking of using two sets of Front channel speakers simultaneously you'll have to choose a level on the NAD that will match up with the others in volume.

If the lights on your sub box aren't coming on it's either your ground of power wire came loose or the transformer blew. As for the subs, make sure all the connections are good, especially on your RCA wires. If your amp is getting power, then check your speaker connections. Also, make sure to turn the gain know up. The gain knob is located next to the RCA input on the amp. Let me know if this helps.

If you have two subs to connect, place the speakers next to each other face down, you will notice that the connection points run in sequence +- and +-. Now connect the - (negative) from the one speaker, to the + (positive) of the other speaker. Now connect the open + from the one speaker and the open - from the other speaker to your amp.
If you have only one speaker it should be bridgeson your amp.
Your amp should have a bridging indication. On the connection points of each channel on the the amp, you should see a mark pointing to the first - and the last +. That will be your bridge

Amps on woofers are fine just won't hit

your probably making your amp run to low ohms if its a 2 channel amp bridged to one channel you can probably only run it at four ohms

Also seeing as your subs are 2ohm dvc you can't wire them individually to 2ohm and use each channel separately. So i'd recommend buying a 2ohm stable monoblock or running it at four ohms. a 1400 watt amp'll still pound at 4ohms and it'll extend your amp's life span

Jl audio with 2 12kickers cvr

it sounds like you don't have enough power to run the amp, or else it is a built in (MOSFET) overload device inside the amp. the woofer is from your discription blown. when you choose a amp and woofer you need the woofer to be able to handle more watts (MAX) than the amp can give or you will blow every woofer you connect up. you can solve the power outage by fitting a "CAPACITOR" which stores power and provides it to the amp as and when it is needed, or you will need to install another battery for the amp alone.

Gem Sound clipping problem

First of all the EXA-3940 is rated at 350watts per channel in to 8 ohms. The 1400 watts is bridged into a 4 ohm load. Second, the speakers can handle 1000Wats peak with an average of 600 continuous (i'm guessing). That tells me that the amp is underpowered for the speakers. The sensitivity of the amp is such that the mixer is overdriving the input stage. That is what is causing the clipping. If you are looking for more volume, you are probably better off purchasing another amp and running them in bridge mode, 1 per speaker cab. Be careful though, not to overdrive the speaker cabinets either.

Amp cuts off...

Are the woofers single or dual voice coil?

How many ohms per coil?

If they are dual voice coil, are the coils for each speaker wired in series or parallel?

Are the speakers connected directly to the amp or are the speaker in series (one wire from each speaker connected to the amp?

Have you checked the DC voltage at the amp when you're playing it at high volume (where it cuts off)?
Not finding what you are looking for?
