Where Is the Reset Button on a Rheem Hot Water Heater? On Rheem water heaters, the reset button is usually a red button located near the thermostat, at the middle of the limit switch. To access it, you will need to remove the metal panel on the unit. The red button is behind the insulation.
On all models, you must remove the cover to access the thermal safety reset. MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE POWER BEFORE OPENING THE CASE. On Miniâ„¢ models, the safety thermal reset button is a round, flat, black button located between the wiring block and water connection pipe.

The reset button is located on the top thermostat, on the heater you will see a acess panel with screws in it to remove the thermostat and element is behind this panel. Once removed the top thermostat should have a red button to press to reset heater. If it resets then wait for a little time for hot water. If this doesn't work then it could be the elements are in need of changing.
There is a reset button located behind the top cover plate on the side. Remove four screws to remove cover and carefully spread insulation apart to access element,thermostat, and reset button. It is a small round red button. If you push it in and it stays thens the element should come on. If it pops right back out then you need to look at changing the reset.Thank you.
Shut off all power to water heater at breaker panel,remove side cover where thermostat is located. Test that there is no voltage at connections, with meter, to be 100% sure you shut off correct breaker. Thermostat should have a red button in middle to depress to reset if it's tripped.
