I can open my flash drive on any computer but not the one that im using. but i want the stuff that is on this computer to be on flash drive, i even tried to put it in my phone it ask me "the disk in drive E is not formatted do you wish to format" i even tried changing the drive letters.
I had the some issue as you , as I know in some manufacture they make a partition on the disk one for the system file of the flash and other for the drop down of the user file so might be by mistake you switched your flash to the first partition I mean to system file that is why you can not open that

Double Click on My Computer, then Right Click on the C: Local Drive and select the option to Format. Remember formatting erases everything so I hope you have an operating system disk to reload. Why format?? If your system is bad and you have an operating system disk, then when you reload from it you will get a newly formated disk. But again you'll lose all your docs, music, pictures and any programs you've added since you bought the computer.
<b>Steps to create a bootable USB flash drive for the purpose of installing a Vista or Windows 7 OS<br />
<br />
<br />
Microsoft Provides a tool to do this for you - Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool which is available for <a href="http://images2.store.microsoft.com/prod/clustera/framework/w7udt/1.0/en-us/Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe">download here</a>. If you need instructions on how to use the tool, see the Microsoft Store Help on the ISO-Tool (<a href="http://store.microsoft.com/Help/ISO-Tool">http://store.microsoft.com/Help/ISO-Tool</a>).<br />
<br />
or <br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Please follow the steps below</span><br />
<br />
</b>
<b>Required:</b><br />
<ul>
<li>USB Flash Drive (4GB+)</li>
<li>Microsoft OS Disk (Vista / Windows 7)</li>
<li>A computer running Vista / Windows 7</li></ul>
<b>Step 1: Format the Drive<br />
</b>The steps here are to use the command line to format the disk properly using the <i>diskpart</i> utility. [Be warned: this will erase everything on your drive. Be careful.]<br />
<ol>
<li>Plug in your USB Flash Drive</li>
<li>Open a command prompt as administrator (Right click on Start >
All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt and select "Run as
administrator"</li>
<li>Find the drive number of your USB Drive by typing the following into the Command Prompt window:<br />
<span>diskpart<br />
list disk</span><br />
The number of your USB drive will listed. You'll need this for the next step. I'll assume that the USB flash drive is disk 1.</li>
<li>Format the drive by typing the next instructions into the same
window. Replace the number "1" with the number of your disk below.<br />
<span>select disk 1<br />
clean<br />
create partition primary<br />
select partition 1<br />
active<br />
format fs=NTFS<br />
assign<br />
exit<br />
</span><span>When that is done you'll have a formatted USB flash drive ready to be made bootable.</span></li></ol>
<b>Step 2: Make the Drive Bootable <br />
</b>Next we'll use the <i>bootsect</i> utility that comes on the
Vista or Windows 7 disk to make the flash drive bootable. In the same
command window that you were using in Step 1:<br />
<ol>
<li>Insert your Windows Vista / 7 DVD into your drive.</li>
<li>Change directory to the DVD's boot directory where <i>bootsect</i> lives:<br />
<span>d:<br />
cd d:\boot</span></li>
<li>Use <i>bootsect</i> to set the USB as a bootable NTFS drive
prepared for a Vista/7 image. I'm assuming that your USB flash drive has
been labeled disk G:\ by the computer:<br />
<span>bootsect /nt60 g:</span></li>
<li>You can now close the command prompt window, we're done here.</li></ol>
<b>Step 3: Copy the installation DVD to the USB drive<br />
</b>The easiest way is to use Windows explorer to copy all of the
files on your DVD on to the formatted flash drive. After you've copied
all of the files the disk you are ready to go.<br />
<b>Step 4: Set your BIOS to boot from USB<br />
</b>This is where you're on your own since every computer is
different. Most BIOS's allow you to hit a key at boot and select a boot
option.<br />
<br />
This isn't a bios setting, it's a setting that Compaq put somewhere (probably the MBR) of your OS to only allow it's restore discs. If you want to use straight Windows XP OEM discs, just boot to the disc and you'll be able to install Windows. If that doesn't work, just format your hard drive(you'll lose everything) then boot to the XP and install that way.
I've been encountering this issue. The problem may come from the card reader or the card holder. If possible, use a different card holder and of problem persists, try a different card reader or test on another computer.
Try inserting it into a different USB port, or try one on a different computer. If that doesn't work, you'll have to resort to formatting the disk to continue using this flash drive. (Formatting deletes all the data on the disk though).
I noticed that too with my "VR" (and NOT "Video") formatted disks. I don't think you can finalize the VR ones. Instead you have to use the Sony Import tool to grab the videos. If you are like me you probably remember using the import tool with Video formatted disks BEFORE finalizing them and it takes forever to copy them. They must be finalized to view on other devices, copy using the import tool quicker, etc., but VR formatted disks seem optimized for importing (and can be edited on the camcorder directly.
