unbolt top cover 5/16, unbolt bottom cover 3/8 unbolt blade 9/16 or 5/8 remove old belt, install new one, install covers and blade

go on internet and google briggs and stratton engine electrical schematics or manuals and usually u can download one for free

If it is an older BS it will be .015 That was standard. In fact an old match box cover would work to set them if you could not find a guage
