This will get you a shortcut to Google, though the icon won't be Google's.
Go to Google.com, resize the window to have a view of the Desktop behind the browser window, click and drag the icon (to the left of the address) to the Desktop.
If you have a Google app in your Program files folder, you can right-click the executable there, click Sendto, Desktop (Create shortcut).
To put Google on your desktop, open Google in the normal way on your browser, and when it loads, click on the padlock/E sign you see at the beginning of the Google address on the address bar and drag and drop it to your desktop
You can also download one of the Google desktop icons available freely on the Internet and place it on your desktop where simply by clicking on it, you can reach the Google homepage.
Otherwise, copy this line (address to the Google home page): http://www.google.com/, and with it copied, go to your desktop and right click. Select "new" and then "shortcut" and past in the copied link. After clicking "next," type the name "Google" and click "Finish."
Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "IBMSupport" or "lenovo Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers.

Hi Yvonne, all u have to do is restore your computer to a previous session that worked and you icon will be shown on yo desktop.Hop this will help, thanx.
Using the driver disk that came with your computer, install the missing drivers.
If you don't have that disk, you'll have to download the drivers. Using a program like Belarc, determine what components are installed, search using google for Win7 drivers. Not a very elegant solution but it works.
http://www.driverstart.com/start705662.html might work.
