Dust and spiders and other bugs are collecting inside the shield between it and the screen. They can be seen sometimes moving. I cannot find adequate detailed instructions with diagrams for removal and cleaning of the diamond shield..

I'm guessing they're inside of the Tv right? well what you could do is buy a can compressed air to remove all the spider webs and dust inside of the Tv :)
Unplug tv first Usually you can pop the front screen off the set. There may be two hidden catches depending on the model. You may want to use two people for this. Once the screen is off removed the spider web and clean the back mirror with some windex, don't clean the inside of screen with any cleaner. Replace carefully the screen making sure it clicks back correctly
You must remove the top back cover, but be careful and handle it gently because the mirror is attached to the inside of that cover. When the cover is removed you will be able to clear out any spiders, spiderwebs and dust and be sure to clean the 3 lenses on top of the 3 picture tubes.
That front screen is what Mitsubshi calls the Diamond shield. Every set is differant but easy to do. Look carefully at the top and the bottom or the lrft and the right, fr clips that run the entire lenth of the top and the bottom or the entire lenth or the right or the left side. They bsimply snap into place. Mitsubishi says to gently insert a small screwdriverbetween the diamond shield and one end of each on of the two clips and gently pull off the clip. Good Luck
