SOURCE: Unable to lift the saw blade Makita Miter Saw

Look at the pivot point on the rear of the miter saw for the push/pull locking pin. The pin is there so you can lock the saw in the down position for easier carrying. To unlock the saw, simply pull the locking pin out (Makita calls this the "stopper pin"). Then you can use the saw and easily raise and lower it for cutting.

As you might find it helpful to have, I have included a link from the Makita web site for a free copy of the owners manual that you can print or save for future use and reference. It has some handy info on use and care of your saw.

SOURCE: Makita LS1030 miter saw, base doesn't rotate as

dust and debris get under the plate; remove the fence from the base and the lock mechanism from the plate; flip saw over and remove the retaining nut from the spindle, the base should pull easily away from the plate.thoroughly clean the bottom of the plate and the top of the base and check for/remove any imperfections in either with emory cloth. use a mineral oil based lubricant when reassembling and be careful not to overtighten the retaining nut.blow out the base after use with an air gun and lube lightly after each day's use to avoid this in the future

SOURCE: How do I assemble the blade guard for my Makita

lay the spring into the plastic safety cover, you will see a catch for one portion of the spring, the cover plate goes over it and there is a tab on it to catch the loose end and then the center plate which screws on to hold everything in place, check by turning the plate that holds it onto the saw for free movement. You can go to makitausa.com and in the header area on the right type in your model number ls1030n and you can download or look at a breakdown to see what I am talking about. Let me know if you need more assistance, just found your question.

Blade wont cut all the way down when cutting baseboard

the maximum cutting depth of a circular saw is the distance from the teeth to the drive washer hub of the saw blade
so on a 7 1/2 saw the effective cut would be less than 3"
if your base board is thicker than that get a bigger saw
it the board is a lot less adjust the cut depth adjustment for the saw base

Miter saw laser adjustment for 12

Depending which model you have, the laser is part of the saw blade stabilizer and is not adjustable beyond removing debris between the stabilizer and the blade.

If the saw is not cutting square to the fence, that is a different adjustment. Rather set of adjustments. The procedure is outlined for your specific saw in it's respective owners manual. You can download here:
http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/Literature-Search You may need to enter the search criterria, but simply "Miter Saw" is adequate.

Problem appears to be the blade guard 'hanging-up' on the down cut. at the very beginning of the action the body of the saw sticks and only after briefly helping the guard up manually does the saw...

first make sure the blade guard is correctly tightened. then if that is correct you have a problem with the link bar and the center plate of the guard. they might be worn or not smooth, I generally try to sand both surfaces cleanly and apply a dry lubricant to them to ensure proper movement. If that does not work they would need to be replaced.

I bought the 10" compound

I have been in the same situation in the past, with a mastercraft miter saw to a point of using playing cards to get that nice tight miter joint. placing the cards between the fence and the piece i was trying to miter.Rioby makes mastercraft all thought they are a good saw they have their limits to the precisions of their cuts. good for fences, decks, stuctural framing ect, were a degree two is not a big thing, but when making furniture or interior trim work or picture frames or hobby craft you need to buy a good pro saw like a dewalt or bosh sliding compoud miter saw they may cost more **** their worth the money they are very precise and will last a life time if taken care of .It will be worth the money when you get that perfect cut every time you use it,it will put the JOY and fun back in your projects and not to mention qualaty in your master pieces.

Need to adjust Miter gauge for Delta tablesaw 36-977. The 90 degree stop is off

1) Before setting the Miter gauge, check that the blade is straight (parallel) with the slide grooves. Lock a board in the miter gauge and place against the front of the blade, and then the back of the blade. Is the distance EXACTLY the same (it won't matter if the miter gauge isn't straight and square). If not, you'll need to loosen the table and rotate the blade holder to square it up.
2) Now Cut a board in half the flip one side over and place the cut back together. If it isn't straight, the resulting board will have a "dog-leg".
3) Adjust the miter-set-screw until the cuts on the trial board yield a board that comes out straight (or use a Framing square to check).

My KING KC-115C Horizontal metal cutting band saw cuts off track.

I used to work for Doall saw company. While I am not familiar with the particular model you have, I have seen issues like it in Doall saws.
Firstly, If bearing guides are not adjustable, replace them. There should be only about a 32 of an inch play between them (in addition to the thickness of the blade). Secondly, for a prodution horizontal bandsaw you should have the blade tensioned a @30,000 psi. Thirdly, if after that, you are still having problems, I would suggest checking the bearings on your drive and idler wheels for runout (in addition to the condition of the tires).
