Wow, you must have one mighty bit power tool there. The Honda genny should accept it easily. You don't mention the current draw of that power tool - it should be under approx. 2200W to allow for start-up load. The other possibility is an excessively long power cord or even a short-circuit in the tool ...... or a problem with the genny itself! Try plugging in your wife's hair dryer to check it. Failing that you should get an electrician to check it all out.
Good luck.

Check the Ground Fault Indicator circuit breaker for triping, and look for the high limit on generator. Reset the main breaker by triping it full right and then back. Vitally

Hi there .
In my opinion you should remove the starter and check the starter first . After you remove the starter get a good 12v battery and 2 wires and test the starter . Make sure to not invert polarity . After you touch the wires on the contactor (small solenoid on the side) see if the overrunnig (part with gears) comes out easy and with no obstruction . If the overrunning does not come out you could have a bad contactor (part # 31204-ZA0-003) or a bad starter (part # 31200-ZA0-701) .
Hope this help

Have you check the engine oil level? If it is down on oil you won't get spark because of the oil level switch shutting the ignition down to protect it's self.

At the controller, you need to see if it is actually sending electricity out of the Generator/Alternator, have a look where the leads from the power making unit mates, (Think of it as a motor in reverse) onto the board. There should be an AC Voltage there, then, work back, or out from there, trace the Voltage until it stops, thats the problem... Check the Breaker isn't tripped or faulty too.
