Go to the Device Manager and check Wireless Network Adapter properties. Is the Wireless adapter installed, working properly and enabled? If not then reinstall the wireless LAN driver.

If it is OK then go to the Control Panel and click on Network Connections and right click on the wireless connection anf then click on Repair. This will make the wireless router issue a new IP address to the wireless LAN card and you whould now get access to the Internet & your network.
If this doesn't work power down your wireless router wait 1/2 minute, power up and boot up your laptop after all the normal LEDs on the wireless are on.

Let me know if you still have problems plus all error messages.

Acer Aspire 5733 Wireless connection lost

Check the wireless router and high-speed modem.

If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.

Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer.

Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu.

Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.

Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to.

Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire. Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.

Restart the computer.

The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver. Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

hope this helps

Hi can anyone help please, my acer 5050 wireless is not working, just installed windows

    1. locate the Wireless communication switch/indicator at the front of 5050 just left of headphone jack.
    2. slide switch momentarily to the right.
    3. you should see "Wireless LAN Enabled" in green letters at the bottom of the screen
    4. a little screen icon should appear in the Taskbar at the bottom right of the screen
    5. if it has a little red x beside it, right click on it for more options.
    6. if it has no red x, you were automatically connected to a wireless that is open (no security enabled)
    7. with the red x and after the right click, in the pop-up, click on View Available Wireless Networks
    8. in the Wireless Network Connections window, if no list then click on Refresh network list
    9. click on the SSID name for your wireless router to Chose a wireless network
    10. click the Connect button to connect to the high-lighted network
    11. if your wireless router has security (WEP or WPA) enabled, a pop-up will ask for the network key
    12. enter Network key and repeat entry in next line to Confirm network key and click Connect button
    13. the little screen icon should no longer have a red x beside it
    14. hovering the mouse cursor over the icon will get a pop-up with wireless connection status

Cannot connect my acer 5600 wirelessly. WIFI is not lighted on. It says to turn on wireless switch.

The wireless switch is on the front edge of the laptop. With the lid closed, its position on the front edge is just under the right latch of the lid. Turn on by sliding the switch to the right momentarily. You should see Wireless LAN Enabled in large green letters appear briefly at the bottom of the screen. A single screen icon should appear in the desktop's Toolbar at the bottom right of the screen. If the icon doesn't appear, then likely the Wireless Network Connection is disabled. To enable do the following steps....
    1. click start button at bottom right of screen
    2. click Control Panel
    3. in the Control Panel window, click Network Connections
    4. right click Wireless Network Connection
    5. on the drop-down menu click enable
If there is no Wireless Network Connection in the Control Panel's Network Connection, then the setting up of the Wireless Network Connection was skipped when the laptop was first unpacked and setup. In Control Panel, click on the Wireless Network Setup Wizard to setup the Wireless Network Connection.

I have a wireless connection but cannot open the browser. Another computer (laptop) is connecting fine on the same wireless.

If the Wireless Network Connection icon is at the bottom right of your Taskbar and has a red x, then right-click on the icon to bring up a pop-up window and in that window, left-click on View Available Wireless Networks. This will open a Wireless Network Connection window which will allow you to Choose a wireless network. If the window has the message "No wireless networks were found in range", then you will need to slide the spring-loaded switch at the right-front the netbook to the right momentarily and the message "Wireless LAN Enabled" should show in large green letters at the bottom of the screen. Then in the Wireless Network Connection window, left-click on "Refresh network list" item under Network Tasks. In about 10 seconds, a list of the wireless networks will be displayed which should include the name of your wireless access point (wireless router). Left-clicking on that list item will high-light it in blue. Now click on the connect button at the bottom-right of the window. If the list item has a lock symbol, a Wireless Network Connection pop-up will now show to ask you to "Type the key" otherwise for an unsecured or open access point, a connection should automatically occur without having to type any key. The Wireless Network Connection icon in the Taskbar should no longer have the red x and hovering the mouse cursor over it will show the Wireless Network Connection status. Hopefully, if this procedure has solved your problem, you should consider securing your access point to prevent unauthorized access of it. After securing, you will need to refresh the network list and then do a re-connect.

    Wireless switch

Although the wireless switch on your Acer does turn on/off your wireless card, you will also need to make sure that your operating system (Windows) has the wireless card enabled.

    Do the following:
    1. Go to Control Panel (Start -> Control Panel)
    2. Double-click Network Connections
    3. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection / WLAN (you can tell it is disabled if the icon is greyed)
      3dce7ab.jpg
    4. Click on "Enable" (if you see Disable, your network is already enabled)
You should check the bottom-right-hand area of your screen (in the menu bar) for your wireless icon. If this is not appearing, you'll have to go into Network Connections again and do the following:
    1. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection (your wireless network adapter)
    2. Select Properties
    3. Click the checkbox that says "Show icon in notification area when connected"
      685e49b.jpg
    4. Now click on the Wireless Networks tab (at the top of this dialogue box)
    5. Scan for a network and connect to it.
