On the 79570323310, you first need to lower or remove the top shelf from the refrigerator. This will allow the water filter cover to drop down out of the way. Press the button on the front of the cover to release the cover and drop it out of the way. Next pull the water filter down completely before you pull it towards yourself to remove it from the manifold hole in the water filter housing. You may want to put a cup under the water filter cover while it is down to collect the water that will come out with the filter. Next remove the new filter from the carton and remove the protective filter. With the tabs on the filter held horizontal, push the new filter into the manifold hole at the same angle as the old one came out. Then push the front of the filter up until it is flat at the top of the refrigerator. Finally push the water filter cover up until it latches closed.

Sears Parts Direct has the manuals for many of their appliances online, the manual for the 79570323310 is here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/79570323310-kenmore-parts-REFRIGERATOR-manual .

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: purchased a water filter for my estate refrigator and the ice maker stop working.

when you replaced the filter did you check the flow before installing. I have had filters actually clogged right out of the package. Also most filters have a flow direction indicated with an arrow on the filter

SOURCE: No water coming from water dispenser.

It is possible the water control valve for that dispenser has failed and will not open. This happens a lot for those and the ice maker valves. All you need is the model number for your refrigerator and that will look like this for Kenmore. 213.564897 for example. and I will help you find the correct part number. Sea Breeze

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore model 795 77563600 refrig side

This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor.
If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code.
Please see the image below from the service manual that explains the ER IF error code.

http://media.fotki.com/1_p,wkbwtkdqbqkgrkkxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/ktfgsrbbdxktrrwffdr/1/1303472/5961857/image18067img-or.jpg

The ER IF code indicates a failure of the icing fan.

You may notice slower ice production but the other fans should be okay.

You can select the ultra ice option and see if the fan toggles on.

The fan or the control is bad.

After changing water filter in refrig, there is a sporatic knocking sound...not associated with using the water dispenser.

The noise you are hearing is usually the ice maker heating up to activate the ice dump process.. It is normal for refrigerators to do. Also could be from the water temp is @ room temperature going into a freezing tray causing the metal to shift.. All normal sounds..

My Sear's Kenmore Refrig is not working correctly. It is making ice cubes but there is no water coming out of the drinking spout. Strange! How do I go about fixing this problem?

in the back of the fridge there are ustally 2 water valves. one for drinking and one for ice making. make sure that they are working. also if you have a built in water filter, make sure it has been changed

Can't identify "water filter indicator light"

the indicator light could be on the control panel inside the refr section if your controls are there, or it is most likely on the front of the dispenser panel. it only comes on when you draw water from the dispenser and thats when you will see it be green, filter ok, yellow, filter at 80% life, or red, time to replace the water filter.
also you dont need to shut off the water when changing the filter as it is made with a shut off device in the filter housing already and is automatic.
by the way filters are expensive, go online and check prices. google "water filters" and find a good price.

this refrig assuming filter is located under the kickplate below frig??? is not reliant on having a filter in , you can safely use with no filter. so you may have an issue with water valve, ad nor incoming water supply
