Replace water filter if not done recently. Second option is debris in the on/off valve that is either behind the refrigerator or at the source known as a Saddle Valve, see video. Turn the valve off (Clockwise) then open it back up. Repeat. That may dislodge any debris clogging the valve. How to Install Saddle Valve Plumbing Tutorial You may have a different valve, if it taps off under kitchen sink. Whatever it is, do the off/on/repeat procedure.
If your house water supply to the refrigerator is poor it is most likely the cause of the water dispenser and ice maker not working. If you hear the water valve humming when the water dispenser is depressed and no water is dispensed it is most likely poor or restricted water flow to the refrigerator.
If you live in an older home the water supply shutoff valve to the refrigerator is usually in the basement or under the kitchen sink. Many shutoff valves are called a saddle valve and the valve is secured onto a cold water pipe and as the valve is turned clockwise a pin punctures the water pipe allowing water to flow. Saddle valves often become clogged with minerals and can completely block water flow to the refrigerator,. If the valve is corroded on the outside it should be replaced. Ice maker installation kits are available at most hardware stores. Copper water line kits are preferred. Cost is under $25.00. If the Saddle valve is in good shape they can be taken apart and cleaned. Be sure to shut off the main house water and drain pipes before attempting to clean.
Newer homes may have a water box in the wall behind the refrigerator. Sometimes these can become clogged with mineral deposits as well.
The saddle valve is the part you hook up under your refrigerator water supply to a water line under kitchen sink and cold water side of the copper pipes. The saddel valve looks like the parts below in photo. And some call the dual water control valve a saddle valve. If you are having trouble withe the water control valve your model takes a part number=> 241734301 Tripple Water Inlet Valve

HI if your using a saddle valve to connect your water to to main water line, this is the problem either switch to a regular T-reducer or try to drill the hole bigger in the saddle valve, those wil restrict the flow to your refrigerator.
I would check to make sure the water line is turned all the way on...then , check to be sure your filter is not needing replacing. (if you have one)..if these check ok...........its possible your water inlet valve in refrigerator needs replacing...Bruce Denton
First, pull the refrigerator out from the wall and inspect the water tubing for kinks. If it looks OK, check the water valve where it connects to your tubing. If it is a "saddle valve" that clamps onto a pipe, it could be clogged with minerals if you have hard water. You could try turning the valve off and on a few times, then check the flow at the dispenser.
If there is no improvement, then check the flow at the inlet side of the solenoid valve, usually located near the bottom rear of the refrigerator. Enlist a helper to turn off the saddle valve (or regular plumbing valve, if equipped) then disconnect the tube going into the solenoid valve. Put the end into a bucket and ask your helper to turn on the valve. If you get a good flow, then you likely have a bad solenoid valve. You can test its operation by removing the outlet tube and operating the water dispenser. You should get a good flow (have a towel handy). If it's just a trickle, then you know it's a bad valve. Shut off the water supply and order a new valve.
you have a seperate valve for ice maker and water dispenser, though it is possible both could have debris preventing proper water flow, i would check the water pressure you have going into the valve solenoid housing. turn off water to fridge, disconnect the line at the fridge, not in basement at saddle valve. place end of tube in bucket, turn on water. how is pressure? good or slow? if its good, then you probably do need to replace valve solenoid housing. You can NOT clear debris out of these, they must be replaced. If your water pressure is still not good, either y ou have a kink in plastic water line. Despite having changed saddle valve in basement, if the stem of saddle valve is mounted on bottom half of pipe, debris from pipe is getting into water line and so on. If the water pressure for water through the door is low I would check your saddle valve that taps into the line. I would next check your icemaker fill tube to make sure it is not frozen. If it is then you will need to replace the saddle valve because it is due to low water pressure.
You can try to manually harvest the icemaker by turning the power switch off-on-off-on and then pushing the lever in three times in a row. This will harvest the icemaker. If the icemaker harvests and the rake moves then its most likely still good. (if theres a batch of cubes frozen in the ice maker then its def bad.) If you get it to harvest and no water comes in then you will know its a water supply issue.
Replacing the inlet valve and saddle valve will most likely correct the issue. You may only need a new saddle valve and they only cost about 10 bucks.
Let me know if this helps _MJ_
You will need R-22 refrigerant. Yes you can install a sattle tap valve. The problem is that you mean the public cannot buy saddle taps or freon do to enviromenalist
If the refrigerator was designed for water there will be a connection in back with a 1/4 inch compression type fitting to connect the water to. You may need to purchase a kit with a saddle valve and 1/4 in hose to route from the saddle valve to the refrigerator.
