We have experienced the LE light for the past several months on our LG Tromm 2277. We replaced the Hall Sensor and it worked for about 4-5 washings. We unplugged and turned the drum 4-5 times in each direction. Replugged and it would work for 4-5 times. When that stopped working, we ordered the Stator Assembly. Same thing. It would wash 4-5 times and the LE light would return. Finally, the washer tripped the breaker and there was no power anywhere. My husband traced power up to the Main Control Board. He noticed the red light on the board was no longer on. The Main Board costs about $150. It arrived (ordered from Sears Parts Dept) and he replaced it in about 10 min. Take a picture of it before you remove so that you will have a guide to re hook. Three days and six washings later, it is still working. If I can get another 3-5 years out of this washer, I'll be happy. I have mastered the musty smell. I use a cleaning tablet "Affresh" designed for cleaning the drum periodically and keep the gasket as dry as possible after final wash using a towel and leave the door open. I love the low water consumption and low detergent use. If you use more than 2 Tablespoons of detergent, you are using too much. I also use a 1/2 teaspoon. of oxy clean when washing whites and towels. Here are two sites for installation reference:

How to Fix an LG Front load washer machine that wont spin Post Comment On Buck Up Chinny

Good Luck! Kathy in Georgia

Sorry folks, your answers do not apply to my Tromm 2277 washer. We previously had replaced the Hall Sensor and Stator Assembly. It would work for several washings, but the dreaded LE light would reappear. Then the control board burned out. We ordered a new one. After several more washings, the new control board burned out. We decided it was time to replace the machine. My Tromm was about 11 years old and I guess it just wasn't fixable. We replaced it with a LG Model WT1101CW top loader. This washer has a large 4.3 Stainless Steel Drum. It has no agitator and is a water miser. Runs quite and doesn't use much detergent. Has settings for large or small loads an will adjust water usage. Even plays a melody when the load is finished. Both Lowes and Home Depot were having a sale. I also got a $25.00 rebate from Georgia Power. Kathy in Georgia

SOURCE: my lg tromm washing machine has an error code LE

Empty Washer and unplug. Hold the start button (arrow with two lines) for 10 seconds. Plug back in and put on the Rinse and Spin cycle (right hand side) I went ahead and ran that cylce (31 minutes with some bleach) and all worked well.

SOURCE: Tromm LG front loader error code

Hi,

Already answered by an expert :-

This a common problem for all front loaders. Your washer will not drain or work 'cause your outlet filter is clogged or an unusually heavy load. The small door is on the left side front bottom of your washer. Remove the door with a putty knife or thin butter knife inserted in the middle top of the access panel door. Drain the water from the filter housing by pulling the tube out of the clip and unplugging, allow it to run into a bucket while the machine is in spin only mode. This mode is acheived when the washer is first powered on press the spin button until no spin is reached then run. Run in this mode until no water is draining from the tube in the bucket. Keep the tube as low as possible. When water has stopped coming out of the tube turn off the washer and unplug from the wall. This step is important because this resets the fault. Expect some water to come out when you open the filter housing by turning counterclockwise until you can pull the filter from its housing. Clean out your filter, return to housing turning clockwise until seated and recap the tube and place in the holder, refit the cover and plug back into the wall. Fixed. You may also need to lighten the load a bit but I always try full on load anyways. If it fails again just lighten, unplug wait >1 minute then replug and run.

Thanks.

SOURCE: LG washing machine displaying error

It's actually a DE error code which stands for drain error. Pull the little basket out that's behind the small door on the lower left front (where the drain hose is) and look inside. The drain pump intake is about an inch in on the left. Make sure there's nothing in there like a paperclip or hair pin. If possible reach in and see if you can turn the impeller. If it won't move there's something in there if it will turn then the motor is probably bad.

worked for me

SOURCE: LG model WM2277HW front load washing machine,

The 'LE' error message indicates the control board has detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the hall effect sensor board which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a problem between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be stopped.
1) in my experience, sometimes this proves to be intermitent, and upon unplugging and waiting for 5 minutes does not seem to resurface again...
2)Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor, or even the hall effect sensor failing or dislodging from it's mount.
this could prove to be very challenging to somebody who does not know what they are working with, i suggest if the problem is not intermitent, call a tech.. hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have an lg wm2277h washing machine, i keep

This is caused by a bad Hall Sensor. when it is bad it tells the computer that there is too much load on the motor, therefore giving you the LE code, otherwise known as a (Locked Rotor Error). It is cheap and fairly easy to replace, the part can be ordered at Sears Parts, using your model number. For information on how to perform your repair, please reply.

LG WASHER LE CODE

Fix for Error Code "LE" on LG Front Load Washing Machine
I just had an interesting experience with our LG washing machine today. I found some hints for the solution online buried in some user forums, but I thought posting my particular solution here in a less cluttered blog might make it easier to find.
I had just run a load of laundry, emptied the machine, and reloaded. I put the detergent in and started the machine. After sitting for about 2 minutes with no activity, a "LE" error message appeared.
While the online forums indicated this might be a problem with a sensor, I was able to solve the problem by doing the following:
1. Press the Power button
2. Manually rotate the hopper 4 times clockwise and 4 times counter-clockwise.
3. Press the power button and run the machine normally.
Don't know if this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. If I keep getting the error message, I'll have to call LG and find out about this sensor I was reading about.
