Main system control memory IC fault. Contact any service technician to replace it. Before replacing this IC; do a reset to this set and check.
To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

SOURCE: Picture Mode reverts always to Dynamic after several minutes

The set was a store demo, and the options were set so they could not be adjusted. On instruction from Samsung I pressed MENU and VOLUME buttons on the side of the set and hold for 7 seconds The display reverts to Standard from Dynamic. The Remote Options button showed Store Demo, but now shows Standard. All memory functions seem to function now. Thanks for your help.

SOURCE: Picture setting regularly changes to dynamic from standard

You need to change the option throgh the service mode.
You can not access that mode without permission from Samsung.
better to contact Samsung call center.

More than likely the TV is in the "retail" mode which intentionally reverts to the "vivid" mode after a short period of time on the other settings, deemed best for retailer display puposes.

Follow the "return to factory settings" instructions found in the operators manual, pg 21 of KDL52S5100. Only the first half of the instructions are needed to put the TV in "home" mode, the 2nd slection to make after "language. After you have slected "home" I do not beleiev you need to any go further into the setup menu.

"Turn the TV on. Press and hold the "^" (up arrow) button on the remote and then push the "Power" button on the TV. Release the "up" arrow."

You should now be back to start, select langauge and home mode and then exit.

You now should be good to go and your picture mode selections should now stay put.

Sony has live tech help "chat" and I would suggest using them if this doesn't get it done - but I'm 99.95% sure this is your fix.

Toshiba 32dt2u1 user manual

Hello!
Try to look at your remote control. The one, what came with TV set, not the cable or dish one. You should find something like: audio(sound) or video preset(picture) buttons. those are assigned for easy access to change those features. by pressing "picture" your settings will change to: vivid, movie, etc. Similar with 'sound". You may find what you want, by playing with those "presets". also: you may go to TV's menu and adjust picture the way you want it in a "custom" mode, the one of presets. You must use OEM remote control to do so.
Good luck,
thanks,
Alex.

Best tv settings for samsung LE40A457

Best is kind of subjective since each person's eyes are different. If you are looking for a bright and vivid picture, you can go to the picture mode and change it to that setting. Usually it is called something like "Vivid" or "Dynamic." Besides that, it is all user preference. Most people prefer to just use the factory default settings.

When i change the picture settings to my custom selections, it always reverts back to the vivid preset after about 5 minutes.

Most likely you are in "retail" mode which intentionally reverts back to "vivid" which is deemed best for store display purposes.

Go to pg 21 of the manual and follow the first half of the reset instructions. Once you've chosen "home" (after first selecting "langauge") you need not go any deeper into set-up mode, just exit at this point.

99.95% sure this will solve your problem and your "picture" selections will now stay put.

Tv stuck on zoom

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check your cable box settings first. Sometimes the remotes have a picture size button on them, and the in-laws could have pressed that by accident. Check the TV settings, press Menu Button & then go to WINDOW/IMAGE SIZE. Now select normal size.

Also check the settings of the converter box (if you are using it). The boxes also have a peculiar problem: Unless users manually change settings from show to show, the picture from many stations either won’t fill the screen, or it will be so big that part of the picture is cut off by the edges of the screen. The solution is to press the “zoom” button on the remote that comes with the converter box. That will expand the picture so it fills the screen. If still the issue persists, then you’ll need to go to the service menu. To go to the service menu please start with the TV off and press mute > 1 > 8 > 2 > power the remote on. Now the TV will come on with the menu displayed and from there you can change the settings as required.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
