It isn't so much the weight, but how it's packaged. How much space will that weight occupy? Is the freezer an up right or a chest? Is there a refrigerator attached to your freezer? What else will occupy the freezer in addition to the meat. Once those variables become a known number then you can calculate the the cubic feet number for toyr needs.

Will 3.74cu.ft. freezer hold 95lb of food?

Hi Trish:
1 cubic foot of water weighs 62.4 pounds so if you had 3.74 cubic feet of water (not frozen) it would weigh just over 233 pounds.
Most of the frozen veggies you put in a freezer have air space and the specific gravity (weight per cubic foot) is quite a bit less than water. Meats are closer to the same weight per cubic foot as water, but you still have air spaces between the packages.
I'd guess that you could get 95 lbs of food in it but you would have to pack it very carefully.

I have arctic air commercial freezer m # F2CW11 s/n# WB338336 freon R134a what psig ? low side and high side when system on

Good day,
When running, the low side is usually about 2 to 4 lbs pressure. The high side is determined by the load and the temperature in the room or area. Minimum 125 lbs. maximum approx. 150 lbs.

It only two years old, do not know where the book is at. I have 800 lbs of meat in. it was set at 5. do we go up on the number and do i have to much meat in and air not getting a round. please help!!!!

as long as you did not pack it in too tightly,to allow an air flow around the back and sides of the shelves/drawers,you should use a freezer thermometer,in the centre,to check, after 24 hours,
that you have -18C to -20C all should be fine.....i do not trust onboard temp guages that much.....

Plugged in the freezer full of meat, and it did not freeze...

My advice to you is to transfer the meat to another place (preferably somewhere cold, for both the sake of the meat, and your freezer), let the compressor cool down, and then try starting the freezer. If it does start (it should), let it run until it has pulled the box down to 0 F. Then add the meat back in. Note at the beginning I told you to store the meat somewhere cold. It can be quite an overloading situation for the freezer, not only to have to pull itself down to such a cold temp, but when you add a bunch of "warm" meat to the appliance it is just to much of a load for it to handle. Hope this helps

Temp Alarm going off, when freezer seems to be cooling fine.

You need to check the temp in the freezer to make sure it's down to around 10 degrees. The alarm will go off much above that.

Need correct setting for 30 yr old upright Kenmore freezer

Your best bet is to start in the middle. Guesstimate and let it run. The test is to see if water freezes solid in 6-8 hours. If not, you can turn about 1/4 turn or less. Then you can try hamburger meat which a lower freezing temp and see if it gets solid. Your perishable items should be put somewhere else until you are ready. At least the water frozen will keep the meat safe from bacteria growth or spoilage. Let me know how you do.

Freezer Burn

It sounds like you may be overloading your unit. If you place a large quanity of non frozen items in the freezer at one time, it may take a few hours to bring the temperature back down. This usually happens with a chest type not an upright. Insure when adding items to the freezer there is room for air movement. With out looking at it I think the problem is the defrost timer or sensor. Maybe staying on too long increasing the overall temperature of the unit. When ever the defrost cycle is on, the cooling unit is also off. As far as the meat freezer burning, none of the freezer bags I have used prevent this. I pr-wrap my meat in freezer paper and then place it in a bag, sometimes freezer bags sometimes not. I try not to buy meat from grocery stores, I grow my own meat and have it butchered and vacuum packed, it doesn't change color. Please note that items in a freezer bag moved around after the contents have frozen will cause air leaks in the bags very easily.

Meat freezer burns

Hi,tomonbow
ngafm at your service,

You said, you are getting freezer burn in only two days, right?

Are you putting the meat in proper freezer bags and squeezing
air out as you zip lock the bag?
If you do not use proper freezer bags you will always get freezer burn on meats!

WAIT ! This will not happen in two days!
Seems to me something else has happened to your meat prior to your purchase and it probably is not the freezer at fault.

If it happens to meat that you feel was not frozen when you bought it, check with the store of purchase to see if it came into them frozen before it was put in their refrigerator case!
Most super markets receive cases of frozen meat and then put them in the walk in refrigerator, or refrigerator case to present them for sale to the customers and they defrost in the case.

Then we think we are buying meat that is fresh and never been frozen!
Fresh meat will not freezer burn in 2 days unless it has happened previously to the time you bought it.

Also when you freeze any meat you buy, repack it in proper freezer bags and not just any zip lock bag!

But I believe it happened before you bought it.
And i'll bet it all came from the same store.
that's why some people shop at a butcher shop or Costco type store where the meat is fresher and sells out faster!
Bless you.

Please give me a good rating before you sign off.
Thank You.
Let me know the verdict. I think I'm right on target!
Do some investigating and ask the store some hard questions!
