My printer does not print even though the inks are newly installed.

Yes. You cannot use the printer even in black and white, until the color cartridge is replaced. They are designed to check the levels of the both black and color cartridges.

Print nozzle check and clean heads if necessary.

check your printer settings, make sure color only is not checked off, or if you mainly print black and white documents, you should have that option checked, you may have to go into advance printer options to do this.

Sounds like you've picked up some dried ink on the print head or ink holder. I would suggest removing all the ink cartridges and the ink holder (see directions from Canon) and clean the bottom with rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip or cotton cloth. DON'T use paper towel, it leaves lint. Check the rollers also to make sure they don;t have ink residue on them. Be cautious when working inside your printer.

problem solved - a newly bought blue ink cartridge was faulty.

Have since replaced it and all is well again.

My printer does the same thing. I changed the blank ink yesterday (the printer shows the black ink was low) however after trying and trying and not being able to complete the alignment I decided to change the color ink as well.
It worked. Printer works fine now. Sometimes the ink dries up and you have to change it even though you know it should last longer.

Friend the printer that prints and without ink appears even though not run out of supply. the problem is not the ink  but the tank lever that carries the cartridge.there maybe stuck dried ink on it came from previous ink installed that drain on the lever. Solutions: 1. try to remove all the ink and clean the lever with a soft cloth. 2. go to settings and perform the head cleaning and nozzle check. 3. do the printing repeatedly until the ink comes out. thats all friend good luck hope i helped you.

Even though I changed my black and colored ink cartridges twice, the printer still prints blank pages. What should I do?

It sounds like it is out of ink. If you have replaced the ink cartridge recently, is it possible you forgot to remove the small piece of tape that is placed over the head to prevent ink leaks? That has to be removed before installation.
