How do I flip an image on Picasa 3

I have used a right angled lens to shoot street photography. This is based on a mirror/periscope system and the result is a mirror image ie. writing back to front/ cars on the wrong of side of the road etc. I need to 'flip' the image to correct this.I have tried pressing Ctrl/shift/H to no avail.I am told that Picasa 3 upgrades automatically so I think that I have the latest update. Please advise.

SOURCE: Upgrade processor on ALI 1541 motherboard

May need to be configured in the Bios, but also some older boards had processor adjustments on the motherboard, either with a block of little white dip switches, or with jumpers that you remove or replace depending on the processor. Some times the settings for the processor are printed on the board too. Are you sure the motherboard can take a processor up to 500MHz.
If you don't have the manual for the motherboard have a look on it for the make and model number and search google for it. If it is available it will probably be an Adobe pdf file so make sure you have Adobe's Acrobat reader.

SOURCE: Windows XP2 to Windows XP3? HELP!

Well I can tell you your issues with All programs and Control Panel not displaying are only caused by 2 things. One is a corporate IT department preventing you from accessing that functionality of your system and two is a virus known as "Virus Alert". Check out next to your time and instead of AM or PM it will show "VIRUS ALERT!!!". Download Dial-a-Fix (http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix) and run the Fix Policies in the bottom left hand corner. This will fix your control panel and your ability to install/uninstall programs. The All Programs is a bit trickery but let me know if you want to try to fix it.

First you need to boot to the recovery console.

To boot to the recovery console follow these steps:
1. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer. Click(or press any key) to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.
2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
3. When prompted type "1" or if you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.
4. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
5. Now you should be at the comman prompt and ready to repair the ntldr file!

Now all you need to do is enter the following commands(in order) and each command on a new line just like you see them here:
cd \
attrib -c ntldr
exit

Your computer should now reboot, and everything "should" work!

What is a rangefinder camera?

Rangefinder cameras are the dual-image devices those allow two superimposed images appear in a line to get the focusing in a very efficient way to measure the distance from the target. The gadget usually comes with a split-image rangefinder in order that users can take snaps with a sharp focus.
There are laser range finders which work on the same concept. When you press the button, the laser beam will be emitted by the rangefinder. The high-speed clock will determine the traveling distance and the return of the laser beam.
Light and Small Camera
You can get good quality snaps with a rangefinder. The camera will be lighter and smaller so that there will be a great convenience. You can avoid additional weight associated with prisms. The weight associated with flipping reflex mirrors and focus screens will also be avoided completely.
You can manage superior wide-angle lenses with a rangefinder. The wide-angle lens that you can get include wide, ultra-wide and ultra-ultra wide. The design is free from flipping mirror barrier. Hence, the size of the camera will be tiny.
Wide lenses (up to 12mm) on full frame can be obtained with a rangefinder. Even though you go for the cheapest rangefinder, there will be excellent results and high-quality images can be captured in an efficient way.
Benefits with Rangefinder Cameras
The operation with rangefinders will be noiseless because there are no mirrors assembled in the camera, therefore, you will hear nothing but the noise of the shutter. There will not be any power-cut with the rangefinder cameras for your inconvenience. You will have the ability to take snaps rapidly in order that you can experience an extensive convenience.
With a rangefinder, you are capable of capturing high-quality images. You will have the capacity to focus, shoot and edit by utilizing your two eyes with the help of this device and there will not be any issue in this regard. You would rather experience an extra viewing with the use of eyepiece magnifiers.
The image will not decrease in quality or intensity with rangefinder cameras. It is conceivable to catch the pinnacle existing apart from everything else in an easy way. There will not be any shutter lag with rangefinder cameras. It is possible to capture the peak of the moment in an effortless manner.
Choosing the best rangefinder to buy mainly depends upon two factors - one of the factors is the typical photography; another is user experience. The professionals' selection between a rangefinder and an SLR-type camera totally depends on the application they intend to execute.
You can be able to capture action snaps in a comprehensive way with a rangefinder operation. You can take better snapshots by utilizing a rangefinder because they are a wonderful alternative for terrain photography.

Ricoh kr 5 super ii mirror

There are some wide angle lenses that will hit the mirror and not allow it to move correctly. Wide angle lenses go further back on the film plane, so they can't be used with that camera. Try a Pentax.

I am assuming it is a TTL (Through The Lens) Viewfinder meaning a mirror, Prism and screen gives you the image. This is based on reality and not any settings. This question confuses me. If something gets in the way and the viewfinder darkens AND the image you take is dark this means there is something very wrong with the lens and possibly with the camera. The Viewfinder image is what bounces off a mirror and when you take the photo the mirror flips out of the way. What is left is the lens, some air space and the sensor. It may be that one of the aperture blades may be moving when it should not. I am close to saying send the lens in and ask for a quote..

LCD not allowing preview features but will show it after.

The LCD screen on the D-40 and other Nikon models except the D-90 will not show previews like a point and shoot does. In other words you have to compose the shot through the viewfinder. The reason for this is that a Digital SLR is heavier than a point and shoot and it would be almost impossible to use it like a point and shoot. In other words it is too heavy to hold at arms length and take a pic. Hope this helps

Taking pics

That's because the Nikon D40 does not have Live View. Up until a couple of years ago, no DSLR's had live preview, due to the design of a DSLR over a point and shoot, as it has a pentamirror arrangement that effectivly deflects the light path to the viewfinder and only to the sensor when the internal mirror is raised. Early live preview models from Olympus had the world's first Live View system by flipping the mirror so that the picture preview could be seen on the rear monitor. Most manufacturers now incorporate Live View into most of their models but most Nikon consumer models do not as yet, apart from the newly relesed D90. The D40 and D40x are two year old designs and therefore do not have the more "modern" specs of say the Olympus E520 or Canon EOS450D. Most photographers trading up from a compact to a DSLR are surprised when they cannot use the LCD monitor in the same way. However for most aspects of DSLR photography Live View is not something that is used all the time, low down shots, and macro perhaps being the most convenient use, but for general photography there is no substitute for framing through the viewfinder, that's what we've been used to doing for over half a century! Besides as pointed out previously a DSLR is often too heavy to hand hold at arms length especially with a long lens.

Telescope doesn't seem to work

This issue will be extremely hard to diagnose over the net but I'll give it a try. This is from Meade. The link to the online manual is below: http://www.meade.com/manuals/etx90ec/index.html Unable to see an image through the eyepiece:
  • Confirm that the lens cover has been removed from the telescope.
  • Confirm that the flip-mirror control (16, Fig. 1) is in the "up" position if using the eyepiece holder (4, Fig. 1) so that light is directed to the eyepiece (1, Fig. 1). Confirm that the flip-mirror control is in the "down" position if using the #932 Erecting Prism or doing photography with the ETX-90EC (see Telescope Controls and PHOTOGRAPHY WITH THE ETX-90EC).
It sounds like you are correct about a mechanical issue with the knob that moves the mirror. If you need a quick fix try your local camera repair or watch repair shop as the are familiar with intricate parts. The camera shop would be preferable as they know optics. Otherwise you could ship it to me and I could repair it fro you depending on the availibility of parts if parts were needed. Check my picture for my site address and get contact info there for more information.

Lcd monitor

If no image in viewfinder then mirror is in lock up position ( take lens off and inspect. Put fully charged battery in and see if the camera will unlock ). If no image on LCD screen then either shutter is not working or CCD sensor is faulty or CF card is not storing images ( card faulty or camera faulty ). In any case camera should probably go to Nikon.

Black Image

Are you taking these images with a flash? If so it is possible that you are shooting with a shutter speed which is too fast for flash photography. Anything faster then 1/125th (i think) on that camera with flash will produce the result you are describing. If this is without flash then the problem lies elsewhere. New flashes from canon have the capability to work with any shutter speed, but classic flashes only work properly at lower speeds. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
