Everything else seems "normal", even after it sits for awhile. I don't ride it that often - a few hundred miles per year. But htis is the first time I had a carburetor problem like this. Again...once warmed up, it appears to run normal with the left choke off and the right choke on. Taking the right choke off to a normal position causes the right carb to sputter, pop and backfire. sounds to me the valves are not properly adjusted,..like their to tight,...i had run into this in a japanese car once,...check it out and let me know,.....cracklin joe

Wow, my 2002 blast is doing the same thing, or at least it was untill it blew a hole through the exhaust and quit running all together. Time for a sportster.
