let it set on the charger for a couple hours without attempting to turn it on. See if the battery icon appears.

If that doesn't work you can try MOTOROLA ELECTRIFY Master Reset Factory Data Reset

SOURCE: Motorola Flash Mode

Can you hold down the center nav key and power up the unit? Then select Yes and perform a Master Reset on the unit. This should fix the file system possibly correcting the issue.

Is this a Q, Q9m, Q9c, or Q9h? Who is the carrier?

Have you tried a Master Re-set when the phone is off? Hold the center key and the power button for at least a FULL minute to a minute and a half. You will see the provider's splash screen, but hang tough.

This works best with the device on a flat surface rather than holding it.

SOURCE: Iphone will not turn on

Here are the steps to reset the iPhone. You probably performed the first reset, try the other resets.:

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I can not answer the phone if an unknown person rings

If you have tried a power cycle, and this does not help, you may have only one option left than to do a master reset.

First, try this:

  1. From the main home screen, tap menu
  2. Tap Settings, then Privacy
  3. Tap Factory data reset
  4. Tap Reset phone
  5. Enter your password if required, then tap Erase everything to confirm

If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen:

  1. Turn the power off. If your Motorola DEFY is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
  2. Hold the Volume Down button
  3. Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on
  4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  6. Press and release the Power button
  7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Downfor NO
