I want to be able to use the radio but not the cd player. it is a factory installed system.
SOURCE: cd/stereo not working
Hi, The "sec" could probably stand for security lock. It is a feature to discourage car stereo theft but is prooving to be more of an owner's problem when battery dies or are replaced or simply when disconnected for maintenance or whatever. The sad part is you have to get in touch with the original dealer of the car who would probably ask you for registration papers, proof of ownership (deed of sale), VIN, make/model/serial number of the stereo and/or other documents. I know its a bit of inconvenience but there is not other way since they have to check a database and fill in so many data themselves. I just hope the dealer is friendly enough. Good luck and kind regards.
SOURCE: pioneer deh-6400 tuner has no audiobut cd plays ok
Did you also use an antena adapter? If not you may need one. Original in the vehicle is small and can pop out from the radio.
SOURCE: installed pioneer cd player/radio in '01 tracker. got hot
some stereos don´t support the original wired of the car and you need to rewired the speakers
SOURCE: After reconnecting the car battery, the radio would not turn on
indeed I have reconnected the radio (2000 MP) and it works again.
thanks for the info.
