How do I find out if the recalls/campaigns have been performed on my washer. It is leaking water, slinging oil and squeaks when in use.

This washer worked great for a while, but now has the aforementioned problems. It also sounds like a jet taking off when it is in spin cycle. The serial # CU0371066.

SOURCE: kenmore elite washer leaks water in spin cycle

You need to replace your pump. Make sure you have the washer either on something that will absorb water, or fix it outside/garage. Because these pumps hold extra water and that is why it is not recommended to keep them outside to do laundry in colder climates. The water can freeze in the pump and wreck it. Good luck. They actually are pretty easy to replace.

Gunk gets on clothes-stains them,i pulled agitator out and cleaned it off ran bleach thru-its better but still getting on clothes

The problem may be the seal on the transmission failing. If this happens, grease from the transmission (necessary for it to function) will leak and float (recall from science class that oil is less dense that water) up into the washer. As the grease enters the tub, it stains your clothes.

Washer slinging grease from bottom of tub onto sidewalls of washer. Also beginning to leak water while it is agitating and spinning. Do I need Tub Bearing kit?

You need the outer tub seal as a minimum for the water leak. The grease is a different mater, it could come for several places by the most likely in the transmission, not the bearings.

Grease inside washer

"When the seal starts to fail, this oil floats up into the wash water in the form of small black drops. The stains are almost impossible to remove from clothing. Also, as the oil is leaking up, hot soapy water is leaking down into the transmission, which will eventually cause it to fail. As I recall, the seal wasn't difficult to replace, but to get access to it,you basically have to disassemble the whole machine.

Not spinning fast enough. Spins, but not as fast as it should, so clothes are still too wet to put in dryer.

I am going to assume this is a top load washer since you didn't specify. There are only a few causes. One would be having too many clothes and it is overloaded causing the clutch to struggle. Or the clutch could be worn out. If there is any water left in the bottom of the tub, then there may be a partial clog in the pump, or hoses somewhere taking too long to pump out the water. The motor may also be weak, but that is usually not the case. Sometimes the top oil seal in the transmission leaks and slings some oil onto the clutch pads making them slip and thus never get up to the proper spin speed.
Take half the clothes out and see if it spins fast enough. If it does, reduce your load size somewhat. If not, read on.
Unplug the machine and disconnect the hoses. Pull it out and tilt it back. Look up underneath to see if there is any signs of oil leaking. If so, the transmission oil seal needs replaced along with the clutch pads. If not, then if you have access to a Wet/dry shop vac, **** the water out of the drain hose. Lay the washer on it's back and remove both hoses from the pump to see if there is anything blocking the water passages. Something small, like a bra wire, can sling over the inner tub and get lodged in the pump inlet. That in itself is not bad but over time lint will collect around it. I have seen all kinds of things choke off the pump including small socks, rug stringies, coins, jewelry chains, etc.
