LG Flatron L1715S 17" LCD Monitor Logo

I first got my Flatron 1715S monitor about three years ago, for the first two years it was replaced due to multiple flies getting behind the screen surface. For the past two years i've just accepted the product as faulty and have to put up with looking at the 6-8 dead flies on view. Does anyone know how to prevent the flies getting in and better still how to clean them out? Since LG, whilst replacing the screen FOC, simply ignore the problem I'll be going elsewhere when I have to replace it!

Get a technician to clean them out for you, for safety reasons. it is possible - by the way - to clean flies from the LCD except the fact that you must know how to handle such components as a LCD screen disassembled.

I can confirm the number 3 solution. I have fixed a bunch of these now.
Replace capacitor C202, 680uf 25V. It is usually visibly damaged. It should be a low impedance type, often known as "suitable for switch mode power supply".

SOURCE: Dead Screen

Hey hows it going,

My name is ArmyMason, lets see if I can get you going in the right direction. www.partstore.com might have a deal on the parts you need but I am thinking it would be cheaper for you to buy a new monitor or consider hitting up a local pawn shop for a cheap replacement. These parts can cost more than the whole monitor because LG buys parts in major quanity and we all know (WalMart effect) the more you buy the cheaper the price. So if you need to take it apart in the back of the monitor are a bunch of screws start unscrewing and make sure you know where they all go. tape them near the hole so that you can find them later. Once all apart, be sure to wear gloves, dont want anything to possiably contaminate you. (LEAD)... get the part number off the screen and look it up in that site. Order it and replace it. It is straight forward to replacing it.

Good Luck,
ArmyMason

No red colour in my lg lcd monitor ..red colour setting doesnt bring any change i screeen..pls suggest some solution

it is very simple, by default in monitor circuit RGB (Red, Green, Blue) tube is installed. and in combination of both of three colors we are able to view colorful image. due to non functionalty of Red color u r not able to view red color in screen, either you replace picture tube or purchase new monitor. coz cost of this tube is equal to monitor.

LG L1715S TFT power issue

Change out C202- 680 uF 25 Volt electrolytic capacitor. Replace with 25 volt or higher. Observe proper polarity when replacing cap: (-) goes to the side with the black mark, check old cap before removing it to see. I just fixed the same monitor today.
