Step 1: Turn off the printer for 30 seconds or longer to clear its memory
Do not power the printer off and on too quickly. Doing so can cause a power issue and
create this type of issue.
Step 2: While the MFP is off, clear any pending print jobs from the computer or the network queue.
This will prevent any corrupted print jobs from being re-sent to the MFP when it is powered
back on.
Step 3: Did the error message return?
Yes: If the
900.80 error returns when the printer is powered up or when you try to print again,
continue with
Step 4 or go to
Contacting Lexmark.
No: If the
900.80 error does not appear on the printer screen, use the printer operator panel to
print a menu settings page. If the error does not return, continue using the printer.
Step 4: Power the MFP off and disconnect all communication cables (i.e., the parallel, Ethernet,
and USB cables). The only cable that should be connected to the printer at this time is the
power cord. There might be a problem with either the printer, a communication cable, or the
print job itself. If possible, connect the printer's power cord directly into a grounded wall
outlet.
Step 5: Power on the MFP again.
Did the error message return?
Yes: A service call may be required. Please contact
Lexmark Technical Support or a
local authorized service center in your area for additional assistance.
