SOURCE: HOW TO CONNECT SAMSUNG LCD TV TO ACER ASPIRE

Atlast I got some help from the right people (Samsung)! I would like to share it with others facing the same problem:

If you are using the D-sub 15 pin jack (VGA Monitor Cable: make sure its 15 pin and NOT 14 pins), follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your TV and computer are off.
  2. Using a 15 pin D-sub (standard) video cable, connect the Video Out jack on your computer's video card to the PC In jack on the back of your TV.
  3. Using an audio cable with a min-stereo plug on one end and two RCA jacks on the other, connect the Audio Out jack on your computer to the left and right PC Audio In jacks on your TV. (Note: If you have your computer connected to separate speakers, you can skip this step)
  4. Switch on the Notebook and Adjust the Resolution (800 x 600 pixels would do). You can go to Control Panel and Adjust the screen resolution. (Keep ‘Screen Refresh rate’ at 60hz in the Monitor Settings)
  5. Switch on the TV and try to Select the Source as 'PC' (you can do this by either pressing the 'Source' button several times on your TV remote or go to the Menu - Setup and Select the 'PC' as source there).
  6. In most cases, after following the above steps, the TV would start to show 'Auto Adjusting' message and it will start showing your Desk top on the TV. But incase it doesn't work, you can do the following:
a. Mostly the problem lies with the VGA cable. Make sure you have the right one (15 pin) and its securely attached at both ends. If you are not using the right VGA Cable, it means that there is no connection between your TV and Notebook. Your TV will show 'PC' in Grey in the Source Input list (Go to ‘Menu’ from the TV remote).
b. Both your Notebook and TV should be switched off when you are connecting the cable otherwise one of them might have a problem detecting the other one.
c. Try Pressing Fn + F5, F6, F7 (depends on which Notebook brand you are using) on your Notebook several times. At times, you will see some signs that the Notebook and TV are trying to connect. Select 'CRT' from list of displays available to you.

SOURCE: Show Microsoft Power point on Sharp Aquos hdtv

try to right click the desktop and choose graphics options, you will have to select the correct output for your setup. i.e. laptop to monitor, etc etc see if that works,...sounds like you have a connection, you will have to play with these settings until it pops up. worked with a similar scenario, sometimes you have to do stufff twice and it works on the second time not the first, electronics are weird.
keep changing the settings in the graphics options until it comes up the way you want it.

SOURCE: NO RGB SIGNAL - VIZIO HDTV TO LAPTOP

I've been online looking for a solution to this problem and couldn't find a fix until today. I just got off of the phone with a Vizio Tech. He told me that some pc's have a way for the monitor to show the screen externally, and that there's usually a button, sort of like the input option on your TV but its an output button for a laptop in my case. It should look like a picture of a TV in and out of each other. Mine was located on the number four key. I had plugged in my wires and put the TV input on RGB. then on my laptop pressed the function key and number 4 key at the same time and what do you know, I had a picture on my screen. I almost gave up on my vizio but love it even more now. I hope this helps.

I cant connect to my tv threw my acer laptop .

The TV probably doesn't have a resolution your graphics card can detect, you're going to have to get a different GPU if you want to do this, or possibly use an HDMI port since those will adapt and stretch the screen resolution.

I have an Acer aspire m3200. I tried to connect it to my hdtv, i got picture but no sound using the VGA cord, and got nothing using the HDMI cord. Please help

Hello,
Using a vga cable to connect your laptop to a hdtv is very easy but the cable does not transfer the audio signal, you need another cable aswell. You need a 3.5mm jack to jack cable, one end plugs into your headphone socket on your laptop and the other end plugs into the pc audio socket at the back of your tv (usually next to where you plug in the vga plug).

I have an Acer Aspire One. The screen says it is "configuring Windows updates 30% complete". It has been like this for hours and I can't turn it off or go to another screen. What should I do?

hi

well i guess by now that the acer has run outta of battery if you still cant stop it manualy then i would unplug the electric power cord and let the battery run out and then the laptop would shut down

and when this happens plug the power cord back in to recharge the laptop and switch back on and hopefully windows will sort it out

if it dosent then i would be tempted to do a system restore back to before the updates and try the updates again

I cant connect my acer aspire 5810 tg with my samsung lcd tv.the tv say "NO SIGNAL"

So here's a quick walk-through of all the methods that I know (if you know any more, please comment) to connect a laptop or PC to your TV:
1. S-Video - This is probably the most common method out there currently because an S-Video cable is cheap as heck and just about every TV under the sun has a S-Video port. You'll have to make sure you laptop is equipped with this port. Remember, there are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and PC's are equipped with a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this method will not work.
2. VGA - If you have a HDTV, then you will be better off connecting using a VGA cable. It gives much better quality than S-Video and as with S-Video, the cable is very cheap. You usually won't find a VGA port on regular TV's though, so this option is if you have an HDTV.
3. DVI - DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface with "digital" being the key word there. The digital signal will give a higher quality picture than either S-Video or VGA. Of course, your computer will need to have a DVI connection and your TV will need to be an HDTV. This cord is definitely not cheap, it ranges anywhere from $40 to $80.
4. HDMI - Using HDMI will give you the best quality by far. No computers that I know of yet have HDMI ports, but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV. HDMI is compatible with DVI.
5. Scan Converter Box - This is the last method that I could think of and it involves using a scan converter box, which takes a VGA signal and converts it into S-Video or component video.
Here's a graphic I created with some pictures of the various cables:

Hope this helps someone! If you have any other ideas or suggestions, please feel free to comment!!! Thanks!

Connection to television

Well if you TV is compatible with HDMI then that is all you will need, HDMI supports extremely good video and audio quality. But you need to make sure your TV settings are correct and any software needed for your TV to sync to your laptop are being used. Ex. my samsung LCD HDTV requires that I use their sync master program with my desktop to run it on my TV under the DVI source channel.
