I need to purchase a battery for my Lumix DMC-FX01. Would I be able to purchase it without a serial number or is there any specific serial number for these batteries are they Panasonic Lumix Model specific or is it important that one has a serial number as I do not have my old battery and I need to purchase a new one. Help

Apparently there is a letter after your camera model number. I don't know if thats going to help find the driver for the camera since drivers that are available are very few for digital cameras on their website. There are a few options. You could purchase a new disk from the service center if there available or you could get a memory card reader for your camera. If you need some photo software, Adobe and Kodak has some available for free to download from their website.

If you are looking for drivers in that CD, click Panasonic Support and check drivers list of DMC-FX01 at bottom of page.
and if you need Software CD, please contact nearest Panasonic service center.

Have you had problems when you turn it on and off from scratch before? It sounds like you have a problem with the lense extension. Now if you are lucky, it's just a bit of dirt in there and the best cure (I know, it sounds horrible) is to put the end of a shop-vac over the lense when it's closed and it will probably **** the obstruction out. If you are less lucky, the problem is with the gearing inside and in the middle of the luck-vs-effort range it could just have been bashed, in which case, you can try and push it back into alignment but be careful with it (he says, after he hit his last one with a large lump of wood to put it back).
Good luck :)
