You need Windows XP touch-screen version. It came on disc with the laptop. I wish I had a copy too.
SOURCE: I have an Asus Memo Pad HD 7 which I purchased 3
the more programs you install and run in the back ground the more the battery is drained. It comes to a point where there are so many programs running the gadget cannot run & charge at the same time. It might charge better if you uninstall a lot of programs or do a factory reset but that is drastic
Testimonial: "I did do a factory reset but the icon is still not showing and it still is slow at recharging. I didn't really have many programs anyway, a few simple card games, crossword puzzles and some weather apps. Right now, I think I have maybe 4 simple apps on the tablet and it is still not charging when on. I checked the battery status in settings and it says "not charging". However, if I turn it off and then plug it in, a red battery indicator shows it as charging."

You need to flash new firmware you can download LiveSuit and
then look for the correct firmware that is compatible with your tablet.
If you search for How to Flash Tablet there will be a video or instruction on how to do it.
SOURCE: My new Asus memo hd 7 will not turn on whatsoever.
Remove the rear cover...use your fingernails, or something thin and plastic (like a guitar pick) to get it started, then work your way around unsnapping it until it is off. Now unplug the battery, the battery connector pulls up towards you to unplug, it snaps in. Now, you have to put the rear cover back on..because as you will notice there is foil on it, and pins on the board that ground through that foil. After the cover is back on...press and hold the power button for 30 seconds or so to completely discharge the energy from the board. pop the back cover off, plug the battery back in, put the cover back on...and plug the tablet in. Now when you push the power button you should see a battery charging icon...let the tablet charge for an hour or so...then boot it up if you would like, but let it charge to 100% before unplugging. Good luck!!
