SOURCE: Green noise on all black images on my SAMSUNG LN LCD TV screen
I had a similar problem with my LG plasma. I used the Image Sticking Minimization
(Pixel Orbitor, White Wash, and Inversion) feature which is designed to prevent image burn in and ghosting. This ISM feature may be available on the Samsung or any other brand under a different name. I activated the "white wash" option for about 30 mins, the screen turns white and somehow the pixels get reset. The green noise disappeared after that.
I hope this helps.

Green dots on a LCD screen are burnt out pixels and unfortunately are incurable other than having the TV serviced at a high price. One of the reasons it is a good idea to get a warranty on these types of TVs is primarily due to this very problem....burnt out pixels.

A shadow of any kind showing up on a LCD TV is going to be a defective LCD panel. If not under warranty your replacement cost for the panel (if available) will far exceed replacing the TV with a new one.
SOURCE: 50HP66 50 in. Plasma Television: i have red dots/shadowing on my tv...
I got the red dots really bad on my toshiba 50hp66 after an hour or two of watching tv. I found out that if you open up the tv in the back on the left you will find two adjustment pots labelled Vsc and Vy. I took a sharpie and marked where the factory defaults were first. Then I adjusted the Vy pot down a little bit and the red spots were gone! My tv looks great again!
