Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Check on the remote if the buttons aren't stuck / sticking then check on the side panel of the television if the button there are not pressing against anything.
Lastly check to see your channel setup is fine and do a auto scan for the channels to ensure that it's not a memory issue
1. Take remote control far away from tv - 3rd or fourth room. Then switch on tv. If uncontrollable scrolling stops , then cause may be remote button (Ch+ or Ch-) has got dirt inside and its shorting.
2. If taking remote far away doesn't stop scrolling then (Ch+ or Ch-) button on front pannel has shorted. Take a cutter plier and care fully remove button from its circuit board. ( If you know desoldering, it is far better than cutting). If scrolling stops then you can operate channel change with remote.
Hello; Samsung thought it was cute to use "touch control" Circuit boards at the set for basic functions like power on/off channel up/ down etc , but they **** at the design of doing this. One function can be stuck on like vol up/dn or anything else. The set has a microcomputer in it that can only accept one command at a time. first take the batteries out of the remote to eliminate it as the cause. Most states have "fitness of merchantability law to protect you against this junk! call the state you are in for protection laws FIRST. If no help, open the TV and find the cable to the buttons at the set and unplug it to see if problem goes away.
You say the remote doesn't work but it may well be the problem. Take the batteries out of the controller then try using the tv using the controls on the TV.
You need to use the (what looks like a large sattellite) button to retune your tv.
Some Samsung tv's let you access the button but other models have a "D MENU" button on the remote. Press this button, then scroll down to the icon that looks like a large sattellite. Then scroll across and click on "Auto Store" this will then go through all the available channels
Check for a channel button on the front of the set.. one of them is sticking. Try spraying some WD40 around the front buttons and work each one to make sure none are sticking in..
