SOURCE: pilot light wont stay lit

You need to replace the pilot safety switch which is usually a Thermocouple. It is connected by a thin tube from the gas valve to a bulb near the pilot burner. It should be available at Home Depot or online.

SOURCE: pilot lights but when ignition pops back up the flame goes out

will either be the unitrol control box or the thermocouple, when you push down you are holding two magnets together and waiting for a small charge to be created from the probe in the flame , if this is not working you have no charge and the magnets won;t stick to allow the valve to open, change the thermo and see if that works first, its way cheaper than a new controler

GE furnace pilot won't ignite

Check for 24 volts at the pilot valve on the gas valve, if there is voltage, take an amp reading, if you get amperage it's trying to work, see if pilot orifice is obstructed by webs etc. very common to see this.

I have a whirlpool super capacity 465 stove tops work fine. the oven glow plug glows but it dosent light could the orfice be plugged.

Hello,

The problem with the oven not lighting believe it or not is going to be that the igniter is weak and not drawing the correct amount of power to allow the gas to flow.I know it would seem since the igniter comes on that it could not be the problem yet since it comes on to me a oven technician with 30 years experience the igniter is exactly what it is.

I can't get the pilot light on my furnace to stay lit.

take out the pilot assembly. there is a small burner and an orfice. the orfice does get clogged if it has not been operated for awhile. you can clean it out with a small sewing needle. if the pilot wont light or stay lit, replace the thermocouple.

Gas heater won't ignite

I agree. Either the pilot flame is dirty and is not making good contact to heat up the bi metal strip on the pilot assembly, or the pilot assembly is defective. 90% of the time if you clean the pilot orfice and the pilot burner it will take care of the problem

Empire DV-210: Pilot light will light and stays lit, but when I

The thermocoupler is no good. It's that bulb sitting in the pilot flame. when it goes out it shuts everything doen in the main valve. It has to be kept hot by the pilot, that's how it know whether or not it is safe to open the main .

Pilot wont stay lite

You either have a bad thermocouple or you need to reset the burner control.

Wather heater will not ignite

You'll probably need to ignite the pilot light before it will allow gas to flow for the heater to ignite and warm the water.. Most controls have a Pilot position that you switch it to , than using a long match .. locate the pilot light in the access opening at the bottom and get the pilot light to stay lit.. Hope that helps...
