make a copy from the document feeder and see if the lines are there. then copy from the platen glass and see if the lines are there. then print to it and see if the lines are there. if the lines ONLY occur when feeding through the document feeder then check the slit glass VERY carefully for debris like gel pen ink and whiteout or other stuff. even one little speck on the thin slitglass will appear as a line on a copy through the adf. if it happens on ALL tests. then it could be a scored drum, bad dv unit, secondary transfer, or fuser.

If the whole page is covered by these black lines, then you have to replace the developer unit K..
If there is (for example) one black line that is been repeated in page three times (vertical) then you have to replace the drum unit. The drum units are all the same, so you can test by change two drums between them.

open copier front cover and remove developer unit, after that remove the drum unit ,pullon green handles on each side, the drum unit has a green cleaning lever on it ,make sure it is all the way to right side,
arrows on lever and frame of drum should meet,if this is out of position a line will appear.

Usually replacing the toner cartridge fixes that problem. Sometimes it's the fuser.

i have the same problem with FS-C5015 and i don't know what part is broken to replace it.

Honestly you have a big problem because the driver IC & Tape Carrier Package inside controller board at vertical area are damage or itself defective could cause you have 2 inches line appear in your display. The best solutions for this replace lcd panel to fix vertical line.

Open up the document feeder and clean the scanner glass

first try cleaning the charge roller on the drum unit or check the hot roller on the fuser

I have a 2 black lines. One goes horizontal and one runs vertical. Is this something I can fix?
