Assuming the mix is mixed correctly and the auger is turning, make sure the micro switch to the right of the motor in the back is in place correctly and works ok. That switch tells the freezing to stop.
The freeze ups normally happen before the red lights of doom and they are caused by the GPU and the CPU getting too hot and the soldering snaps off so they lose connection.
If you stop the heat build up you will be fine.
You can do this yourself using a good repair guide or you can send it in and they will fix it for you.
First of all you have to check if the fan is working properly because this is the one responsible for "taking the cold out" from the evaporator and into the freezer
Have you contacted Sony's support? See if they know of a solution to the issue? I find it hard to believe it would just be you with a problem like this.
Sounds like a bad digital board to me. Not too hard to replace in those models but, you do have to write down a few settings before replacing it. These settings are available in the service menu. Any questions let me know [email protected]
I had the same problem - you are (as I was) turning off the camera too soon after you hit the stop button after recording a scene. Wait until the word "disc access" appears (about 5 seconds after you hit the stop button. This "marks" the end of the scene. I just don't know how to edit that scene out or if it will delete it out. I know after finalizing the disc that scene will pause for a while (10 to 20 seconds even) when you watch it through the DVD player to the TV.
