Check your door switches. Maybe a stuck relay.

This model uses an inverter to produce high voltage. That symptom is an usually indication of a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron. I do not recommend that a person without training and experience ever work on these models. You should be able to locate a Panasonic-authorized servicer here: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/WhereTo/FindServicer.asp?Pass=1 I would mention the exact symptom when you call so the technician can bring a new inverter with him when he comes out to repair it. Might save you having it pulled into the shop. Good luck!

SOURCE: Panasonic NN-P295 Cooktop Light not working

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: panasonic microwave no power or light

I must have suggested this 20 time today. if you open the casing you will find several fusees that the manufacturers don't want you to know about.
you have a 10 ampish large fuse that protects the power circuits ( transformer/magnatrons) smaller fuses for control circuits also might want to look atand reset the thermal cutouts. if it overheatedprior to failure

SOURCE: Replacement light bulb for Panasonic NN-9853 Microwave

Hello, I also have a Panasonic Microwave ( model NN-S 564 or 574 ?) They are very similar.
I have just removed the outer cover 5 screws ( unplug of course ) and have located the bulb holder which is a white plastic component with two clips holding the globe, pull it out and remove the two spade clips connected to the globe. The globe will come away attached to a black plastic mount. Next........do the run around to find someone who sells it.
Perth has an authorized distributer/repairer in Myaree whose details I got from Panasonic. He may sell them. otherwise I will try a couple of specialist light globe suppliers I know....PROLAMPS in Belmont and one in BALCATTA whose name escapes me but I have been there before...Hope this helps others.

The night light switch on my maytag over the range microwave will not work

I am assuming you changed the bulb. Anything that sits over a stove will become mucked up with grease and cooking oils etc. That can prevent the bulb from seating in the socket, the switch from making contact, etc. Unplug the unit, remove the bulb and get int here to clean the grease out. That should fix it.

Replace light bulb on a panasonic inverter microwave

The cover has to come off the microwave to access the bulb. There are several screws around the back and sides. Remove these and the cover should lift off, revealing the bulb. For your own safety, make sure that the microwave has been unplugged from the outlet for several hours before attempting this repair.

Hi,

Do you mean you want to replace light bulb for your microwave? If yes follow the instructions below;
  1. PLEASE UNPLUG YOUR MICROWAVE!
  2. Picture of your microwave with a phone or camera so that you don't forget how to assemble it back.
  3. Remove the two screws that holds grill. They are located at the edge of the unit. Once the screws are out, rotate the grill forward from the top. It will pop right out.
  4. Once the screws are out, rotate the grill forward from the top. The grill should pop right out.
  5. Locate a small access cavity on the left.
  6. Remove the screw that is located near the front of the microwave door.
  7. Lift up the sheet metal floor to access the bulb. The bulb is located under the sheet metal "floor" on the left.
  8. Place a flash light on the microwave floor and shine the light in the light area. This will help you see better when you replace your bulb.
  9. Look for a small shiny reflector that hides the bulb. Use your two fingers to squeeze it a bit. Making sure not to bend it.
  10. The bulb connection should come right out.
  11. After you replaced the bulb, re secure the reflector and the sheet metal floor with the single screw. Test the bulb by plugging in your microwave.
  12. Once you see that the bulb works. Unplug your microwave again and re attach the front grill. You are now done.
I hope this helps to solve your problem.

Good luck.

THE STOVE TOP LIGHT ONDER THE MICROWAVE BLEW OUT. WHEN I REPLACED THE BULB BOTH LIGHTS NO NOT WORK.

Sounds like a power source issue from under the hood.
Unplug or turn off all power and take a closer look in there,. alternatively - this may sound crazy, but are you certain both bulbs are working by testing in another fixture??

Bulb replacement

It aint haolgen. This is another GE piece of POO engineering.

Unplug the microwave FIRST.
Now, Make sure your stove top is cold!

There are 6 phillips head screws holding a plate that secures the stove-top light and grease trap filters on the underside of the microwave. Lay on our back on the cooking elements looking at the bottom and remove the screws. The plate should swing down on hinges in the back.

Then remove the "bulb holder" which is held inplace with another phillips head screw. You can see what it looks like: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5100389

You should now be able to remove the "screw-in base" of the bulb with your hand or in my case, because I was so tight, I man-handled it with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Now, go find a bulb! good luck.
