Lower red light appeared but did not flash. System froze.
PSR has already repaired my unit 2 times. Is the 3rd time a charm? I started my 360 this morning to continue playing Mercenaries 2 that I been playing successfully without problems for the past week, and a red light appeared lower right but was not flashing. Any thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks Huuum...unplugging everything and plugging all back in was the first thing I did but unfortunately received the same result. And I will not open the console and mess around with the hard drive. I've swapped hard drives from my Mac G4 but do not know enough about game consoles. I have a service call into PSR and I'm awaiting a shipping label to once again return my console to them for repair. I was actually told by one of their reps that what I'm experiencing is usually fixed after the 2nd service. I guess they were wrong. Thanks Huuum...unplugging everything and plugging all back in was the first thing I did but unfortunately received the same result. 1) Remove your hard drive and/or memory units. 2) Run "Initial Setup" under the system blade. 3) Decline inserting HDD or memory unit when prompted. 4) Sync your controller and pop in a game.
This is a fairly common problem with the xbox 360 units, you will need
to call 1-800-4-My-Xbox for a repair. Most of the time the repair is
free under warranty.
Thanks

Make sure that the power supply is cool
loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry');
The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or it has
already overheated. If that is the case, you should let the power
supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. Turn off the
Xbox 360 console and don't turn it back on while the power supply is
cooling. This will allow the power supply sufficient time to cool. As
soon as the power supply has cooled off, the power supply light will
change from red to orange, and you can turn the console back on.
If the power supply light is still red after you have let the power
supply unit cool in a well-ventilated space, the power supply unit may
require replacement. You can contact Xbox Customer Support at http://www.xbox.com/support/contact
(http://www.xbox.com/support/contact)
for information about how to replace the power supply.
Make sure that the power supply is plugged in correctlyFor further details go to this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906101/

When you turn on the console, look at the light on the power supply. The power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the Ring of Light flash red. If the power supply is button is red than you need to replace the battery or check the connections.
The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console. If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online.
2 red lights flashing is'nt too bad of a deal. just reposition your xbox 360 to a place where more airflow can get to it. plus, dont have anything that gives off heat near the xbox 360, thats vary important to give it room for cool air. it worked for me
