My CD Driver went MIA

TSST Corp CDDVDW TS-L632N ATA DEVICE DRIVER is MIA. Where did it go and how do I recover it. I have Vista Home Edition

    Who was it made by?

    Was the CD drive there once before or never at all? (IE, is this a new build or have you been running on this system for a while?)

Driver needed for TSST Corp CDDVDW TS-H653N

Download it from
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YX4P99CU

would suggest, personally, to download that driver [File Version: 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101.2205) file, and use that file to overwrite the driver on your system, seeing as my drive functions. The file source can be located at: C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/cdrom.sys

That is what I'm showing as the latest driver at the moment. Hopefully that will be of some help.

Try to uninstall your optical drive on device manager and restart your system.
->if that doesn't work try a firmware update.
->if that still doesn't work,replace optical drive.
