I have a Reminton electric chainsaw model number LD4018AW, and the screw that attaches the lift handle was misplaced while cleaning the saw. I need a replacement for it....

You can get a switch special order from any Ace Hardware or other fine hardware retailer or chain saw/lawn mower repair shop or rental place or from a FixYa.com advertiser.
Try to return it. RemingtonPower is no longer in production, eBay is rapidly becoming the sole source for replacement parts. The number you provide does not cross. I found 3 pole saws. Part numbers (pn) 111409-01 (not your saw no brushes), pn 104317 and 106821. The latter 2 use stator assembly pn 113614-01; NLA at RemintonPower and not listed at MasterParts. An Internet search for Reminton 113614-01 returns only pdf files. Sorry. Lou Odds are good Home Depot knew it was out of production when they sold it to you.
The chain has to be tensioned when replaced. You lift the chain away from the bar about halfway and the tangs that run in the bar should just almost come out of the groove. There is a screw that extends the bar near where it attaches near the sprocket. adjust that with the bar mounting nuts not quite tight till the chain is tensioned correctely.
to me it sounds like the adjuster screw is bent stopping the cover from comming off.bad news is that cover is no longer avalible.the cost on that cover is $5.95 if you can find one.the cover only came as an assembly.you can try this place and see if they have any more.....http://www.masterparts.net/
