You can just buy a new remote. Test it using the smartphone front camera trick. Or it is the television that has no signal, do a Power Reset. Pull the mains plug for 5 minutes. Press and hold the power button on the set for 1 minute. Plug back in. Also check the input leads on the back for whatever is supplying the signal, Cable, Satellite, OTA, then check the Source button on the remote.

The positive battery cable in particular tends to corrode the terminal and the cable wire that comes into the terminal. If the terminal seems be barely attached, buy a new cable.
