TV wont turn on with power button or remote

Hello!! There are a few ways to get this working to shut off the TV. I put some instructions at the bottom here. These are instructions for a power scan, which scans the TV for the correct code.


1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.

I have the same tv. Something to remember is that the picture is lamp powered. It takes about 30 seconds to power on and takes about a minute to fully power off. I had issues when trying to turn on the TV, accidentally double tapping the button, which would turn it back off. I'd do the same when trying to turn off the tv.

If you are sure this isn't the issue and the lamp light is still on once the tv turns off, most likely your bulb is burnig out. You can find replacement bulbs on the internet. They are fairly easy to install yourself, so you shouldn't have to have the tv serviced.

If the bulb seems fine, your tv could possibly be overheating. In that case, make sure the vents are cleared as the tv gets pretty hot.

fot the most part, you have solved your problem (pow bd), The main bd may also need to be replaced as well. The is a signal upon powering up the system. the pow bd communicates with the signal board. The signal bd, also is responsible for ALL of your additional I/O lines. Between the two of these, + a firmware update, i think the tv will be just fine.

Same Problem. TV was purchased from Sams Club about 2 or 3 years ago. workede great unti llast week. We were watching tv and it just shut off. The power button on the tv started to get soft were you had to push hard or just use the remote. My guess its something with the wsitch.

Go to the tv 1 location with your TV2 remote. Turn TV1 on and using TV1's remote press menu-menu. You will be at the System Info Screen. Take TV2 REMOTE and press and hold the SAT button on the top left until all buttons on the top light up. Release the SAT button. Now key in a two digit number from 1to 16 and press the # key. The SAT button will flash three times. Now press the record button until the remote address for TV2 changes to the number you chose. When accomplished exit out of the screen with th TV1 remote and you should now be able to control TV 2. As a precaution ensure the remote antenna is on the back of the receiver. If you still have difficulty it may be required to move the remote antenna closer to TV2. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can of further assistance.

Sorry it took so long to reply to your request for help.This Direct TV box has had a component failure. You will need to call Direct TV and have them replace the box. You can call Direct TV Customer Support at this telephone number 1-888-667-7463. Tell them that you are having a problem with Direct TV box and need a replacement. If the TV wont go on with the manual button on the front panel, then you have an issue with the tv set. Try a differant wall recepticle. Or unplugging it overnight. If it wont go on with the button on the front of the set after this is tryed, then its time to go to the repair shop, as the set has a power supply problem or a problem in the HI voltage/sweep circuit. You could have gotten an electrical surge that put your set into a shutdown condition and unplugging the set and letting the Microprocessor reset will fix this problem if it dosent blow out the main power regulator as you still or might I say have a regulator IC problem. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN MORE THEN A FEW TIMES WITHIN A SMALL TIME FRAME I WOULD HAVE THE SET LOOKED AT BEFORE THE REGULAOR BLOWS SOMETHING OUT!!!!
