My lights on my Neptune dryer pulsate and the timer doesnt work properly.

There is a constant buzz. The dryer heats up and turns but the timer doesn't keep time, it dropped from 45 min to 1 min. All the lights, including the timer pulsate on and off.

This is a wild guess. Sounds like the filter capacitor(s) on the control panel (Display) is failing, permitting some AC to effect the digital circuitry. This is not for DIY because there are 8 versions of the control panel available, depending on the dryer series AND they are very expensive.

This is a heavy one but I've stated before that all appliances and electronics need a functioning ground----you can't use a 3prong adapter to 2prong----there's no ground for the machine to function by and also an ungrounded machine is dangerous----this may not be your problem but it's the easiest to fix, the cheapest and the safest

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Dryer-stopped heating

first, check the exhaust, make sure every inch of it is clean on the inside. if there is any blockage, the heat will build up in the exhaust and a sensor will shut down the heating element.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Dryer not heating

Q - My electric dryer runs but will not heat, what could stop my dryer from heating?
A - Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.
A ohm meter test for these parts is here.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune gas dryer MDG4000AWW not heating properly.

Note: Normal drying time for a dryer is about 45 minutes (some may take up to an hour).

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

SOURCE: dryer does not heat up.

Hello there:
normally on these units if the dryer was working ok and then suyddenly stopped heating your heating element or the ignitor (excitor ) has failed and is need of replacement
so i would start by having these things checked first by contacting a local repair man to do a evaluation on the unit and if kyou still have a valid warranty i would use it ok
I hope that this is very helpful for you
Best regards Richard

My dryer doesnt go on. The front panel still clicks and when i push start button it buzzes but doesnt go

Belt, fuse, door switch, timer switch, something caught on the drum (all sorts of things get caught back there), heat sensor (depending on the age, had one that had a heat sensor would turn the dryer off, if told the computer dryer was overheating even though had not been running), bad motor, bad motherboard for dryer (again depending on age of dryer)

Maytag Neptune dryer will not turn on...has at least 110 electris coming to it... shows a digital display .8.8 ...

you need 240volts for it to run and heat, the timer and motor are each on their one side of 110volts and the element needs 240volts to heat,so if the motor runs or the timer runs but not both and it doesnt heat your missing one of the 110 to 120volt phases, check the homes power panel it will have either a tandem pole 30 amp breaker or 2 30 amp fuses and one of them will be bad(open) the breaker may look like its not tripped, but sometimes one leg will open and not show, turn it off and back on then check for 240volts at the dryer

SURGING

I'm assuming you mean that lights in the house are blinking and that there is a buzzing from the unit. Sounds like a motor issue or a drum that has something which is overloading that motor. It is also possible that you have a defective circuit breaker that is arcing or an arc in the relay/timer board. If these hints are not helping, then I suggest you get someone in.
