SOURCE: can't send or receive PIC messages...

try rebooting your phone 2 to 3 times daily and deleting text and phone calls regularly. this may help your situation. rebooting is taking off battery waiting at least 15 seconds reinstalling battery and powering on... best bet is to delete items then reboot... your problem should go away. unless of course your messages are too large to be sent than that's a totally different issue

SOURCE: Can't send or receive picture messages

Ok, this solution hasn't been posted and I'm hoping it helps at least a couple of you. My fiancee & I both got EnV's at the same time, (him green, me orange) and he could send and receive pic msgs but I couldn't. Well, I finally figured out the problem with my phone. See, we live in a "non-coverage area", VERY rural part of Pennsylvania, where the only "bars" we get are the ones that say "1X III"; my fiancee works in a "coverage area" (bars read "ev xIII") about an hour drive from home; now, I actually had a knowlegable csr tell me that "coverage areas" may be my problem, so about 2 weeks later I went into the city which is in the "coverage area" and tried to send a picture message and to my surprise, ta-da! it worked! It has worked ever since, now, even from home I can send and receive pic msgs. On a separate issue in one of the posts above, someone said they got the notice "msg sent/rec'd failed" --THIS does happen sometimes from home, and after paying close attention I've noticed that it depends on the "call state" when you are sending/rec'ing the msg, meaning, it has to show the picture of the little cell phone WITH the flashing arrows in order for the msg to completely go thru. Sometimes, I have to go to the "sent" menu and it may take a couple of retries but it does finally go thru. Also, if anyone else has this situation, you may have to do the *228 from the "verizon coverage area" but just sending/rec'ing pic msgs or downloading games in the area should update your phone enough that you should be able to do all of the above from even "non-coverage areas." For those of you who are in "coverage areas" and are having this problem, I'm so sorry : ( , I don't know what could be the cause of your problem, I can only offer my advice of keep trying cust serv & try and find a knowledgeable rep. to help you. Hint, if they don't know what you're talking about right off the bat, tell them you have to go and then call back & try with someone else. A LOT of these reps will go through HOURS on a call-they are trying to help you but have NO IDEA what they are talking about. Don't waste your time on them, keep trying diff. reps til you get someone familiar with the prob. Good luck!

I am getting authentication error when I set up gmail account in my alcatel 871a. How can I solve this problem?

Authentication error is usually caused by one of two things; incorrect email password or an unrecognized IP address. I suggest connecting the phone to a secured wifi hotspot (such as your wifi at home if you have it) and attempting to authenticate there. Make sure you're inputting the password correctly as well. Otherwise you might try the troubleshooter I've linked below. Troubleshoot Your Cell Phone Smartphone Tablet or MicroCell from AT

I am unable to setup my email wizard in my samsung corby

Standard instructions for email inbox setup:

i have finished my corby pro email settings & i can send and recieve emails. the problem with only recieving & not able to send is the confusion between port numbers. in secure connection box three options available ' off ', ' SSL ', ' TLS '. use only SSL or TLS because the port numbers for SSL & TLS differs. just try this & you will be able to send and recieve emails.

                                                    SMTP port - 465

                                                    POP3 port - 995

Enable POP in Gmail. Don't forget to click Save Changes when you're done.Configure your client to match the settings below:Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL:pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL:smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
Port for SSL: 465Account Name:your full email address (including @gmail.com or@your_domain.com)Email Address:your email address ([email protected] orusername@your_domain.com)Password:your Gmail password

Unless you're using recent mode to download mail to multiple clients, make sure you've opted not to leave messages on the server. Your Gmail settings determine whether or not messages stay on the server, so this setting in your client won't affect how Gmail handles your mail.

Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address.

Also, if you're having trouble sending mail but you've confirmed that encyrption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587.

You're now ready to use POP with your Gmail address.

Got locked out of my droid eris cliked forgot pattern wont take google acount info

Hi,

You can try the following solutions:

*** (See below steps first) Once you are on the phone, you can pull down the top menu and look at email, texts, etc. (anything in the notification bar) - Just open up an email and click on a link, you will get a notification to go to settings to turn on WIFI.***

1. Change your password on your Gmail account.
1A. **Use your USB cable to hook the phone up to your PC/Laptop** (this may not have to be done)
2. Make a call to your phone.
2A. ***Turn on the WIFI on the phone*** (info up top)
3. While on the call, pull down the top menu and tap the sign in/ authenticate button.
4. A menu will pop up and ask you to put in your password to authenticate. (still on the call while doing this) Pull up the keyboard by tapping in the password box or you can hit the menu key to get it to come up. Put in your new password and let it try to authenticate. (it cant because you are on the phone but let it try and give you the message that it is unable to authenticate)
4A. **It may authenticate and sign in**, but when the called ends, you may have to perform step 5...
5. Once you end the call, go back to the screen that says enter your Gmail username (Your Gmail email address or just try your Gmail username without the @gmail.com after it) and password. Enter this information.
6. It should ask you to set a new unlock pattern. If so, do the pattern twice and you should end up at your home page!

If the above fix does not work, you can try the following:

Note: Before doing the following fix, you may want to call your cellular provider's customer service department for assistance.

I say this because the following will Hard Reset your phone which erases everything on the phone's internal memory and brings it back to a factory state like when you first bought it.

This will delete your contacts and everything saved on the phone's INTERNAL/BUILT IN memory.

If you have a backup of your data/contacts, don't worry about it because you will be able to restore them after you Hard Reset the phone.

Here is how you hard reset your HTC Droid Eris:

1. With the Eris turned off, press and hold the Volume Down and Send buttons.
2. Press the Power button.
3. Follow the instructions to complete the hard reset.

Once the hard reset is complete, your phone should boot back up and you will have to set all of your personal settings again and load your data/contact backups if you have them and then your phone should be back to normal!

I hope this helps!

Best Regards,

James
