I have a sony Blue Ray says "no disc" all types blue ray or other. I tried turning it on an off several times, unplugging several times. Tried may types of DVD's.
Clean lens with cotton..extra care not to touch with bare hands.. Note: if it says 'NO DISC" immediately after closing then check capstan motor if spins smoothly..the one spinning the disc..

hello there! i see that you're blue ray is not working on your PS3 console, do these steps first:1. unplug all the cables and plug it again after 5mins.2. Always remember to wipe first the disc and the disc tray before putting it. Sometimes the dust is the problem why the consoles cannot read or detect the disc. ( always do this even if it's not blue ray, OK?)3. try the blue ray disc to see if it's working. if these didn't work, try to call the service center or other authorized technician of the console and ask about your problem. maybe it has to replace some parts. kindly rate this post and thank you for choosing fixya.
If you can play standard dvd movies without a problem, then you are looking at a laser pickup assembly issue. The blue ray disc require more precision to provide the higher resolution when it is demanded, this is an early indicator of impending failure in the assembly. However there is a small chance that cleaning the laser pickup lens may solve the problem but unlikely.
Turn off the power.
Press and HOLD the eject button.
While holding the eject button, turn it on.
This works with most players, but may not work with all.
The most likely cause of your frustration with the BDP-S350 is that
your player's firmware is not the most current. I have the same model,
and had similar problems with newer Blue Ray Discs.
The solution is to go to sony's website, download the firmware upgrade, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into the player to fix it.
i would say the problems comes from the way the company formatted the movie onto the blu ray discs. and i would say that there will most likely be a recall on them. if anything connect the manufacturer of the movie. hope this helps you.
Your firmware seems to be an older version. Since the discs that you are nameing are asking for Blu-Ray 1.2 support.
Samsung has provided updated firmware to support these discs.
