I have a toshiba RC-1910 DVD combi player that is only showing in black and white when playing DVDs. It is still showing in colour for TV. I've tried everything but can't seem to get it fixed. Can you help?
Generally, the main causes of the problem are included in the following aspects.
1. The incorrect TV and DVD broadcast formats.
2. Incorrect cabling.
3. The backlight of the TV screen is abnormal or broken.
4. Objective factors, like whether and connection signal.
You can check on this for more details:

Try to check the TV system it might be set to PAL or NTSC...

Had the same problem but was able to fix it by simply doing the following:
"this is closed captions turned on your TV. get your original TV remote and look for a button that says "Captions" or "CC", and keep pressing it until the TV says "Off". if it doen't have one of those buttons, you will need to get into the menu of the TV and turn off closed captions there. It is probably set on "Text1 or Text 2" right now, and it needs to be set on "Off"

Ok,
I'm not sure what you mean by digibox. Under what conditions are you able to see things in color? Is a digibox a seperate device you can get to work with the same connection as your player? If one device displays color on the same connection and another doesn't then that seems to rule out the television being the problem. Can you clarify a little more?
SOURCE: DVD player won't play DVD, says "load"
The unit can recognize that a disc has been loaded but can not read the contents. This can be as simple as a dirty lens or more drastic like failing optics. Try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to correct the problem and a music CD will play OK, then the optics are failing. DVDs require more laser power to read than a music CD.

SOURCE: dvd won't send picture/audio to tv
for video, 3ways and any of this should work.
Step1, video out of dvd to video in on top at video1 section on tv. or
Step2, svideo out of dvd to svideo in at video1 section on tv. or
Step3. using component video
DVD unit component video out to TV unit component video in at video2
Y to Y input of TV
Pb to Pb input of TV
Pr to Pr input of TV
for audio, connect left/right audio of dvd to left/right input of tv. Input section of TV is in the middle. on tv back panel from left to right is antenna input, IN section - this is it, use this for all your connections.
let us know if you have any issues. thanks.
