SOURCE: replacing lid switch

someone, Im not finding that model number. Going by the first six digits Im assuming that this is a regular top loader and not an Oasis washer. If so, remove the end caps on the consol by pulling them off. Remove the screws under each end cap and flip the consol up. Unplug the lid switch connector and snap springs holding the cabinet on. The whole cabinet will pull forward and you can get at the lid switch. Check out the pics and post back...Catriver.

SOURCE: how do I get to the lid switch to replace it on my washer

Pull of the end caps #14 & 11 on the diagram. Remove the screws and the front panel will flip up. Then there are 2 clips connecting the bac to the cabimet. Snap those out and the the WHOLE front of the machine comes off if you tilt it forward. Go to sears.com and parts to bring up any model for anything and you can kind of see how things go together. Good luck.

SOURCE: can't get top off kenmore washer model # 110 22852 100

No problem. What you want to do is this, remove the screws from the back panel first to remove that metal plate protecting the wires. Once off you need to take off the two covers on the sides of the control panel. There is one on each side, just pop them off. Once off you will see there is a screw under there holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws and that will lean back. Next take a flat head screw driver and put it under the lip of the lid on the front of the washer. I mean the lip that is about an inch down from the top on the front. Pry up and the whole lid will pop up. You will see the lid switch there held in by a screw, follow the wire to where it plugs in and unplug it and replace with the new one. Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful to you. Always happy to help and good luck.

Kenmore Washer 70 series Model #110.22722100 won't spin

Check door switch: If the lid switch is bad it will not drain or spin. Try this test: With lid open let it finish wash cycle. Press lid switch down with screwdriver. Washer should begin draining. Release switch. Motor should stop. Press switch a second time. Washer should start spinning as it continues to drain. If motor doesn't come on while lid switch is pressed, replace the switch. OR

How do I acces the lid switch on my kenmore washer

The following link explains step-by-step how to access and/or replace the lid switch on a Kenmore top loader:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385198-replacing_lid_switch

Most lid switches are located under the right hand side of the top panel. Some, are located adjacent to either lid hinge. In any case, you still need to remove the washer exterior case to access it. The switch is held in place with a couple of mounting screws with a ground wire attached. This is a very simple repair, but if you experience any difficutlies please let me know. I hop this helps you.

You need to replace the Kenmore Washer Lid Switch. I had the same problem so being lazy I would just push down on the washer's lid and it would push the lid switch further down. making the water drain. after a while I just replaced the lid switch.

Help with Kenmore washer

most often the lid swtch is out of alignment, less often the switch fails

with the lid open examine the underside of the lid for the plastic 'tooth' that is supposed to engage the switch, if broken or missing replace, test
with the lid open and the washer turned on, use a ballpoint pen to engage the switch plate in the hole at the right side of the lid
If the washer starts, adjust the switch position, test
If the washer does not start
remove the edge trims from the console
remove the screws from the lower corners of the console
slide consloe forward ~1/2 inch, flip up and over
ensure cable is connected to lid switch connector
try lid switch again with ball pen
if washer does not start the switch has failed,
remove metal retainer clips from rear of washer top, remember installed position, you have to put them back
lift washer case 1 inch slide forward, lay down, remove switch
replace
reassemble in reverse order, test

3-5 times a month, takes about 25 minutes, the switch costs $7.95+tax
