SOURCE: Canon Scanner

Scanners can be taken apart to be cleaned:  'You want to clean the inside?' 'Well, its dirty ikayak, thats why.' Ok take it apart, remember the screw sequences; that aint hard normally for scanners.
Put it this way there aint any little brushes or nanobots to clean it for you in there... you gotta do it manually. Use something alcohol based to lose smears and actual residue. It its dust then use a hairdryer and a soft SOFT brush that doesn't have any dust on it itself... you'll just make it worse.
I hope your scans are clearer now!

SOURCE: canon scanner lide90glass is broken where can i buy a replacement

I suggest you to replace complete scanner instead of purchasing a glass, bcoz this will cost you more, and more over less possiblities that it will work.

SOURCE: Canon DR-2050C Scanner gets verticle line down image

I have the same issue with mine and there are 2 image sensors on this scanner. 1 in the back that you will see when you open the front that has a meteal shield covering the top half, and one in the fold out front that faces the inside. These are the "glass" sections everyone is refering to. Problem is, they are plexiglass, not glass and mine has a tiny scratch in the lens that is causing the line. This could be your problem. find the lens and use a LED flashlight to inspect your lens for scratches. If its scratched like mine, the entire module has to be replaced to fix it. The canon part number is MH7-7038 and they range from $125-$160 if you replace it yourself. The one in the front is easy to do, but the back one is a little tricky. Hope this helps. E. SOURCE: canon dr-7580 scanner how to initialize cis

Hi, You may need to calibrate a new CIS with new Assembly. Later on this new assembly can be removed and your old one will do. Assembly means solonoid+ shading sheet. This will work for sure Samir Dhingra 9820800633

SOURCE: computer not finding canon dr-3080c scanner,

Please check if you have installed 'Driver' without which the Comp cannot recognise the SCanner. (Driver is the software interface when two hardwares are connected).

When I scan a document in the canon 9080c scanner - the document when printed will print with a black line through the middle of the page or on the left side of the document. I have changed the rollers and...

Try scanning a few documents in full size mode (scannerrs maximum), If you observe a line in the same location in all images, you can conclude that there is either a scratch in the glass (due to stapler pins) or dirt stuck firmly. Try cleaning with Isopropyl alcohol. For absolute emergency, you can wet a cotton bud in after shave and clean the right spot, take care not to touch any other part other than the glass. If glass is scratched, you need to replace it.

My canon 6080 leaves a thin black line on everypage scanned. is there a way to fix this?

Clean the glass thoroughly with a damp cloth. Dont use solvents. Check if the glass is scratched, if scratched you may need to replace it.

Light flashes and it says the scanner door is open but everything is closed

More common reasons are paper jam, dust/dirt, or a faulty sensor.

So, check for even the smallest pieces of paper, especially in the scanner area, use compresser air if necessary and clean the scanner glass.

Your sensor could also be broken/faulty. Not certain if the sensor is a user-replaceable part.

Hope this helps.

This must be a vertical line and appearing at the same location on all drawings! Please clean the glass thoroughly. It must be dust particle sitting on the glass.

Getting vertical lines on scanned pages when duplex scanning on canon dr-3080c II scanner Only on duplex side of pages, though. Front page still shows up clean.

It is dust on the glass, clean it thoroughly. You will find it at the same location for all drawings and may get faded for lower brightness!

Line going down page

Don't know if this is a solution per se but I replaced the glass bar (there is a part # on it) on the inside front of the scanner and still got a line. Then I played around with the back scanner glass and still got a line then I got in there real good and cleaned and when I scanned something it would show no lines until I saved the document then I got two lines. Thought it was my software going haywire but I did not give up, got some canned air and alcohol and cleaned the glass once again and blew out every part I could find and the problem resolved itself. Apparently the smallest piece of lint or dust, smudge or anything foreign on the scanner lenses will cause this line. But I love this scanner and I wasn't willing to give it up or pay $600 for a new one. Only had it a little more than a year. Persistence seems to be the key but check those little scanner bars and be careful, they are tricky to get out.
