SOURCE: honda 13 hp won't start...back fire's
Assuming that the engine has not been taken apart and timing is set correctly. Have seen this often. Usually valve adjustment. Adjust valves as per manual so that compression release is working. If compression release is not working after adjustment check for faulty cam.
SOURCE: pull cord broke
if you have not replaced cord you will need to do this, when you fit the cord turn the pulley 4 or 5 times full circle the same way as if it was pulling cord, then feed cord through pulley and out of housing to fit handle when this is done you can let pulley recoil and you should have correct tension, hope this helps

SOURCE: I am looking at buying
It has quite allot of hours on it so it has been used extensively. 283 hours on a pressure washer pump is about 27% of it's life expectancy. The good news is that it has a Honda engine. If it runs perfectly, looks like it has been taken care of, and has plenty of pressure, I would pay no more than around $400 for it tops. You are the buyer and the seller is wanting to sell. You have the upper hand in this deal. Offer $300 and then bargain.
