These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Hi, If all else fails, try do a hard reset. You can verify from your manual, but in some units, this is merely unplugging the unit from mains for a couple of hours. Try again, if it still shows error codes (blinking lights) you probably have to seek the services of a qualified professional. Hope this be of some help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: standby light flashes 3 times

A 3 flash pattern indicates that either the lamp is not seated correctly or that the lamp door is not latched properly. It can also be a fault with the switches that sense whether the lamp is seated or the door is latched. Try reseating the lamp and relatching the lamp door

The red standby light flashes in the code of 4 times then pauses then 4 times then pauses

Five times blinks to Sony Bravia is related with an IRK error. It is related to its main digital board. In most cases, the main board might need replacement. It will be best to contact the authorized service center for Sony. If you're sound in electronics, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up previous posts there, either by type in the model name to your set in its search box, or view it in Mosaic /Timeslide option.

Hi Gerard,
3 flashes of the led light on most KDL series is a power supply malfunction. To confirm the error code, lets access the self diagnostic screen by following the steps below.

Unplug the unit from the outlet for 30 minutes and then plug it back in and check if the symptoms remain the same. Wait until the led light stops from flashing and then press in rapid sequence the "Display", "Channel 5", "Volume (-)", "Power" button key on the remote control. Self diagnostic screen will be display. Let me know the result.

My Sony Bravia KDL-26S3000 won't turn on and is stuck in standby.

Hi,

There is a power fault with one of the PCB's inside, contact Sony if you are still in warranty, if not contact a Sony service center as it will need an engineer to open it up to repair it.

Thanks

Sony kdl-26u3000 lcd problem

What you are seeing is an error code. Sounds like you may have a high voltage problem. My advice to you is to find an AUTHORIZED Sony repair center and let them fix it. Sony is a very unique product and I would not recommend you try to repair it yourself or let anyone (except an authorized Sony repair center) even attemp repair.
