You may only need to give it a good cleaning. Get some "Sea Foam" carbureator cleaner Homepage Sea Foam Sales Company Simply take the carb off and clean it thoroughly with the Sea Foam product and you probably won't need any parts. Also, be sure to add a fuel stabilizer to your fuel supply. "Stabil" is a good product for this.

SOURCE: Valsi Generator 7500W no output voltage

If its a Generac could be the voltage regulator or control board. If you want to go inside then disconnect the avr (voltage regulator) from the field and put 12 volts to the field slip rings with a car battery. Watch Polarity.... Yu should get about 60-80 volts out of the 115 receptacle. Plug in a light bulb and see if it lights. If it does then the field and stator are probably ok and you need to look elseware. Make sure breakers and connections are ok from the stator and receptacle.

SOURCE: Have a VALSI 5500 watt generator that works fine

We had problums with this one also. If you absolutely cant find a tank repair it.

A motorcycle shop in your area has no doubt had plenty failed tanks to repair. and then have it plastic coated on the inside.

The problems stem from the use of fuel with ethanol it attracts watter and dosed not work well in a gen set that spends lots of time setting.

Begin using fuel with a fuel stabiliser and keep it full, Air also has water in it.

SOURCE: 5500 watt generator won't start.

With starting fluid, it runs, so this means spark and compression and valves closing properly. You mention gas flow, so gasolene is getting to the carb. This would then leave the problem being in the carb if indeed fuel is present at the carb. If you take apart the carb right now, is there fuel in the bowel? Or, remove the bottom screw on the carb, does gas flow out? Does it flow continuously or does it quit? This will indicate if the float valve is indeed opening. The only thing if you have fuel in the bowel and no start, even with the choke closed, is that the main jet must be plugged. Had the unit been sitting for quite a while with gasolene in it? Gas can "varnish" after a few months and this can cause plugging of the jets and other passages. How old is the gas in the unit? Old gas won't burn in the engine and this can also be a problem. Drain the tank, and carb, put some new gas in the unit and try it. You might have to take the carb apart again and use some carb cleaner to blow the **** out of all the carb passages. This should get it going again. Now, most important, when you get it running again, you need to adjust the engine speed so that you do not burn out any electrical equipment. If you have access to a frequency meter, plug it into the 120 volt outlet on the generator and adjust the speed so that the frequency with no load is 62 - 63 hz. This will allow the generator to drop to 60 hz under load. The adjustment is a 5/16 nut, right side of the upper engine, facing you.

SOURCE: We have a Valsi 5500

How long have you had this generator?
Has the generator worked on all of these loads before?
Model 5500 is a 5500 Watt generator which could easily be 5500 watts (Peak) and not continuous.

Your AC is an inductive load.
Your lights are resistive loads

An inductive load can cause issues when starting due to an increased current demand at start up that some generators cringe under. Do the lights flicker or are they stable? I'd say your diodes on your stator are working if you have light stability but you haven't provided nearly enough information for a detailed solution.

I'm sure you have enough voltage but you aren't getting enough current to run specific loads. How many watts is your AC? How many watts for your microwave? Both of these units demand a great deal of energy to run and when you place too much demand on your generator, it will choke it out and eventually, will cause damage to the generator. You may consider getting a beefier generator with a greater amount of wattage output.

Seeing these specs online and noting what you are trying to run, you have an undersized generator and need to get one that can produce a greater amount of running wattage (as well as peak wattage).

Need to know how the rotor of a valsi 5500 is conected to the rest of the electrical sistem i only can see the rotor a diod and the coil on it

Its brushless so likely there are diodes on two opposing rotor windings that effect a DC current making the rotor a two pole (N/S) electromagnet.

The only external connections will be the stator windings. The generation process starts from a residual magnetic field of the rotor.

Onan 4000 will not start. Removed spark plug, it is oily and smells old.

If this is a two cycle rebuild and clean carb. If this is a four cycle your rings are going bad, the smell would mean trouble.

VALSI 5,500 WATT GENERATOR WILL NOT START

All generators need to be run once a month. All things from the tank to the and including the carb will get gummed up with dried out fuel. I have a whole house generator and a 5500 watt gen set on my motor home. I keep fresh fuel in the stand alone house generator in California in case of a bad earthquake. I drain the gas after every run and keep all vehicles full of fuel just in case. Run gen sets at least once a month or pay pay pay!!
